SAUDI ARABIA WAR CRIMES IN YEMEN, HUMANIATARIAN CATASTROPHE

Death comes from the shies for many Yemeni children every week, every month, for over 18 months now, unending.

FROM THE GUARDIAN, UK:
AUGUST 18, 2016

The campaign of indiscriminate killing – though let’s call it what it is: a war crime – has now been going on for almost a year and a half. And the United States bears a large part of the responsibility.

THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN IN YEMEN ARE DYING FROM AIRSTRIKES, FROM THE BLOCKADE, FROM HUNGER.

.
Finally, after prodding from reporters last week, the US state department condemned the bombing of a Doctors Without Borders (AKA Médecins sans Frontières) hospital that killed at least 15 people. But then, the state department spokesman refused to say whether the US would stop supplying the Saudis with the weapons they are using.
At the same time, the US military can’t even articulate why our government is helping at all.

IN ALL WARS, IT'S THE CHILDREN WHO SUFFER MOST.

DID SAUDI ARABIA USE "LIGHT" NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN YEMEN?
SOME EXPERTS SAY THEY DID, INDEED, WHILE OTHERS POINT TO THE FACT THAT SAUDI ARABIA DOESN'T OWN THE HEAVY AIRCRAFT THAT COULD DELIVER SUCH A 'PAYLOAD'. STILL OTHERS ASK IF PERHAPS THEY PAID ISRAEL OR THE U.S. TO DELIVER A 'NEUTRON' BOMB.

NO CHILD SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE FEAR OF BEING BOMBED OR OF BEING SLOWLY STARVED TO DEATH.

IN YEMEN, AS HAPPENED IN IRAQ AND NOW SYRIA, CHILDREN LINE UP FOR WATER, WHICH IS VERY HARD TO OBTAIN.

IF, AS IN IRAQ, THE WATER SOURCES ARE CONTAMINATED BY "DEPLETED URANIUM' WEAPONS USED AGAINST YEMEN, THE VERY WATER THESE CHILDREN DRINK CAN BE WHAT KILLS THEM.
IT MAY BE YEARS BEFORE ANYONE TESTS THE WATER TO SEE.

IN YEMEN, THERE SIMPLY ISN'T ENOUGH WATER FOR ALL, AND SOME HAVE DIED GOING TO THE WATER SOURCES TO FILL THEIR CONTAINERS.
CNN reported on the 8th of April that almost 10,160,000 Yemenis were deprived of water, food, and electricity as a direct result of the conflict.

The same report also added, per sources from UNICEF officials in Yemen, that, within a 15-days time period, some 100,000 people across the country were dislocated, while Oxfam said that more than 10 million Yemenis did not have enough food to eat, in addition to 850,000 half-starved children.

Over 13 million civilians were without access to clean water.

IN SOME YEMENI FAMILIES, ONLY CHILDREN SURVIVED BOMB BLASTS, WHILE IN THE STRIKES ON YEMENI SCHOOLS, ONLY CHILDREN HAVE DIED, AS WAS THE CASE JUST A FEW DAYS AGO, AUGUST 13, WHEN 10 SCHOOL CHILDREN WERE KILLED.

"We just found bits and pieces [of bodies]," said one of the villagers, picking up yet another piece of charred flesh.
He showed me where they had found the lower half of one woman's body, then the torso of another. He picked up what he said was someone's sternum.

The villagers told us they had gathered the human remains, put them in cloth sacks, and buried them nearby. They showed us the graves. One for the body parts and a separate one for the closest thing to a complete body they had found.

They said that , even as they were filling the graves, the jets circled over their heads."

EVEN DURING 'CEASEFIRES', SAUDI ARABIA KEPT UP THE RELENTLESS SHELLING AND BOMBING.

"Another man asked us to come to his house. One small concrete building had another wooden shack next to it built from branches, with no doors.

Inside was a mangled bed.
Dark , wet patches of blood soaked into the mud floor.

The man said his 70 year-old mother had been almost cut in two when a large piece of shrapnel flew through the branches and into the wall of the main building.
He said two children had been on the floor, and they , along with his mother , had also been killed.
His brother and sister had died inside where the missiles had landed.

Large pieces of flesh and body parts were still stuck to the wooden frame of the tent. We heard another jet above us. "

According to the UN, from March 2015 to March 2016 over 6,500 people have been killed in Yemen, including 3,218 civilians.

MOST REPORTS ESTIMATE THAT CHILDREN MAKE UP AT LEAST ONE-THIRD OF ALL DEATHS IN SAUDI SHELLING AND BOMB ATTACKS IN YEMEN.
UNICEF: Thousands of Yemeni Children Dying Due to Conflict

WHY IS SAUDI ARABIA GETTING AWAY WITH GENOCIDE WHEN ALL THE WORLD CAN SEE LIVE REPORTS THAT SHOW THE RUIN AND THE CARNAGE?
TWO WORDS: "OIL KINGS".

From Al Arabiya, English; August 18, 2016:

"Yemen", which have killed at least seven civilians when a workshop was hit Tuesday in Najran, Saudi Arabia.

[MY NOTE: SEVEN Saudis killed as opposed to thousands killed BY the Saudis? We can't have SAUDIS being killed, right?]

That blow caused Saudi Arabia’s worst civilian death toll in the kingdom’s south since the Arab coalition intervened in Yemen in March 2015.

[MY NOTE: SEVEN killed is the WORST for Saudi Arabia? Maybe because Ban is so concerned for the Saudi MONARCHY, but NOT the innocent Yemeni children that House of Saud PAYS to have killed every day?]

Ban expressed alarm at “the escalation of airstrikes and ground fighting in Yemen and along the Saudi Arabia-Yemen border” since the suspension in early August of UN-brokered peace talks in Kuwait.

[MY NOTE:Saudi Arabia has thumbed its nose at Ban's "alarm" for over a year now.]

Meanwhile, in more or less the same time frame, we read in the New York Times, Aug. 13, 2016:

Saudi Coalition Airstrikes in Yemen Kill at Least 19, Mostly Children

"Airstrikes carried out by warplanes from a military coalition led by Saudi Arabia killed at least 19 people, mostly children, on Saturday in a residential area and a school in northern Yemen, witnesses and hospital officials said.

One bombardment in the village of Birken in the Razih District, near Yemen’s northern border with Saudi Arabia, struck the home of Ali Okri, a school principal, killing his wife and four of their children.

Then, in what has become known in the war here as a double tap, a second airstrike killed four more of Mr. Okri’s relatives as rescuers were trying to free them from the rubble.

In the Haydan District, another northern area, airstrikes on Saturday hit a school, killing 10 students and wounding 28 others, an official at a nearby hospital said.

When rescuers took the victims from the principal’s house to Shiara Hospital, which is supported by the medical charity Doctors Without Borders, staff members asked the rescuers to leave immediately, fearing that the hospital would be hit by another airstrike, rescuers said.

Several Doctors Without Borders hospitals have been hit by Saudi-led coalition airstrikes since the conflict began early in 2015.

[MY NOTE: But House of Saud denies the allegations, yet again, that they have killed children and attack hospitals, even with documented video evidence.]

"Maj. Gen. Ahmed Asseri, the spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition, said, “We all know that these criminal organizations and groups are under pressure of the government,” General Asseri said. “So they keep lying and saying that hospitals and schools are hit because they know the sensitivities of the international community.”

Witnesses insisted that no Houthi military forces were present in either the principal’s house or the school.

“It’s a wanton aggression that can’t tell a civilian from a military target,” said Ismail Mufarih, a colleague of the principal, who helped rescue victims. “All were civilians. Their only sin was that they were Yemenis."

General Asseri cited a recent report by the Joint Incidents Investigation Team, a panel set up by several of the coalition’s member states, which absolved the coalition of responsibility for civilian casualties in most cases, saying that Houthi militants often hid their forces in civilian sites.

[OH, REALLY? THAT VERY SAME  ARGUMENT GETS ISRAEL NOWHERE, EVEN WHEN HAMAS IS FILMED BY ITALIAN, FRENCH AND OTHER FOREIGN JOURNALISTS LAUNCHING MISSILES INTO ISRAEL FROM ATOP HOSPITAL ROOFS AND FROM GAZA'S SCHOOLYARDS. FUNNY HOW THINGS CHANGE WHEN ITS SAUDI ARABIA CLAIMING THE SAME WITHOUT  VIDEO PROOF, YES?]

In a post on Twitter, Doctors Without Borders put the number of dead in the attack in the Haydan District at 10 and said that 21 people had been wounded. “All were under 15 years old,” the post said."

And how did this all begin?
It really depends on whom you ask.

A CIVIL UPRISING...
Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, running unopposed for president, won the 2012 Yemeni elections. Hadi represents the SUNNI Muslims of Yemen.

The Houthis (or Ansar Allah), a Zaidi SHIA movement and militant group thought to be backed by Iran, took control of the Yemeni government through a series of actions in 2014 and 2015. Saudi Arabia and other countries denounced this as an unconstitutional coup d'état.

In military ground operations, the Houthis were supported by sections of the Yemeni armed forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was removed from power as part of the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings.

Houthi leaders claimed that Saudi Arabia was trying to break the alliance between the Houthis and Saleh's supporters; reports claimed that Saleh's son Ahmed Ali Saleh had traveled to the Saudi capital to attempt to broker a deal to end the airstrikes. Saudi media claim that Saleh or his son had approached Riyadh seeking such a deal.

By September 2014, Houthi fighters captured Sana'a, toppling Hadi's government. Soon after, a peace deal (known as the Peace and Partnership Agreement) was reached between the Hadi government and the Houthis, but was not honored by either party.

The deal was drafted with the intent of defining a power-sharing government. A conflict over a draft constitution resulted in the Houthis consolidating control over the Yemeni capital in January 2015.

After resigning from his post alongside his prime minister and remaining under virtual house arrest for one month, Hadi fled to Aden in southern Yemen in February.

Upon arriving in Aden, Hadi withdrew his resignation, [Surprise!] saying that the actions of the Houthis from September 2014 had amounted to a "coup" against him.
[Obviously, enough Yemeni people decided he was unwanted to oust him, maybe?]

Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain have also taken part in the bombing operation. Djibouti and Somalia made their airspace, territorial waters and military bases available to the Saudi-led coalition.

[MY NOTE: What really happened was that "The Masters" in Saudi Arabia snapped their fingers and the Arab serf states came scurrying to do the bidding of the monarchs.]

As always, the United States "provided intelligence and logistical support" and even "search-and-rescue" for downed coalition pilots. America also stepped-up the sale of weapons to coalition states.

[MY NOTE: America NEVER misses a chance to butt-in where it has NO business butting-in, especially if OIL or GOLD or some other natural resource is involved.]

Both the US and Britain have deployed military personnel in the command and control center responsible for Saudi-led air strikes on Yemen, [providing lists of targets to all who wish to bomb Yemen into powder].

Saudi Arabia called on Pakistan to join the coalition, however its parliament voted to maintain neutrality, [while it has American drones kill its citizens by request] . "

"INTERVENTION" IS JUST ANOTHER NAME FOR ALL-OUT WAR.

All this "intervention" has created one of the worst humanitarian disasters on the planet.

While the abomination known as the U.N. has "abhorred" the humanitarian catastrophe, it has done absolutely nothing to FORCE Saudi Arabia and its hired army (few of whom are actually Saudis, but mercenaries in the employ of the House of Saud) to end the carnage.

Also, while the corrupt U.N. continuously sanctions and rails against Israel for counter-attacks on Gaza after missiles are fired at ISRAELI schools and homes by HAMAS, and while issuing constant scathing remarks about Israel's national defense, the U.N. fails daily to address what Saudi Arabia is doing in Yemen, where over 1,000 children and more than 5,000 other Yemen people have been murdered by Saudi "intervention", where daily strikes on hospitals, schools, Yemeni homes have raged on for over a year and a half  now.

While the so-called "UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen" said air strikes by the Saudi-led coalition on Saada city in Yemen were in breach of international law, nothing has been leveled at Saudi Arabia and her partners in crime to force them to leave Yemen alone to settle its own affairs.

By July of 2015, the UN had declared Yemen a "level-three" emergency – the highest UN emergency level – for a period of six months

A September, 2015 report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) concluded that by the end of June 2015 almost two-thirds of civilians killed in the Yemeni conflict since March 26 had died as a result of airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition.

On August 24, 2015, the UN special representative of the secretary-general for children and armed conflict said, that the majority (73%) of the children killed in Yemen since the escalation of hostilities in late March 2015 were victims of Saudi coalition-led airstrikes.

The UK, which is "working alongside" Saudi bomb targeters in the war, has also continued arms sales, saying it will stop supplying weapons "if Saudi Arabia is found to have breached humanitarian laws".

[MY NOTE: Can't anyone in charge of weapons sales in the UK read the above reports? Are they blind to the film footage coming out of Yemen?
Of course Saudi Arabia is guilty!
It's a case of GENOCIDE, period, and it's being carried out as a PROXY WAR against IRAN. It's the age-old Sunni versus Shia crap that's been ongoing since their prophet died while having sex with his 9-year-old bride.]

Human Rights Watch has frequently criticized the UN Security Council for "remaining almost silent on coalition abuses" and affording the Saudi monarchs "special treatment".

It pays to be the richest oil-producing nation on the globe.
Otherwise, the UN would be screaming daily about the Saudi-led massacres.
Wealth from oil can buy the silence of nations...and the U.N.

The Saudi blockade of Yemen left 78% (20 million) of the Yemeni population in urgent need of food, water and medical aid.

In one instance, coalition jets prevented an Iranian Red Crescent plane from landing by bombing Sana'a International Airport's (SIA) runway, which blocked aid delivery via air.

As of mid-December, 2015,  more than 2,500,000 Yemeni people had been internally displaced by the fighting.

More than 168,000 people have fled Yemen for Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and Oman.

The UN warned in June that the country's architectural and archeological treasures were at risk and added the Old City of Sana'a and Old Walled City of Shibam to the List of World Heritage in Danger in July. "

AREN'T INNOCENT CHILDREN ALSO THE 'TREASURE' OF ANY NATION?
DON'T HUMAN LIVES MEAN MORE THAN ALL THE ARCHITECTURE IN THE WORLD?

The bombs just kept on falling and Yemeni children just keep on being killed for over a year now.
AND THE U.N. HAS THE AUDACITY TO REMOVE SAUDI ARABIA'S NAME FROM THE LIST OF THOSE WHO HAVE COMMITTED CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN!

Saudi Arabia Dropped From List Of Those Harming Children

SURELY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THE HYPOCRISY AND INDIFFERENCE IN THIS.
WHY THE DRIVE TO HELP SAUDI ARABIA EXTERMINATE A GROUP OF PEOPLE IN ONE NATION WHILE DECRYING THE SAME IN SYRIA?

"The Hunger To Fix Syria, and the Indifference Towards Yemen"
 August 20, 2016

Yemen is currently being wrecked by a war that he US is deeply involved in, but perfectly able to plead ignorance over.

Saudi Arabia and the US have been buddies since the 1930s.

America has never been one for consistency over which nations offend its humanitarian sensibilities.

Pragmatism wins the day, and pragmatism is the only thing that could justify the continued alliance with Saudi Arabia, a theocracy more strict than Iran’s, which prevents women from driving, and regularly beheads its prisoners.

[SAUDI ARABIA IS] a nation that is also currently leading a vicious bombing campaign and war in Yemen, which has led to thousands of deaths, and potential starvation for hundreds of thousands; not to mention, more than two million people displaced. All of that because the Saudis are overly concerned about which a__holes are in charge of Yemen, and the civilian casualties are not a concern.

It’s a humanitarian crisis as well, but earlier this month the US sold $1.15 billion in weapons to the Saudis. Obama has sold that a hundred times over during his nearly eight years in office. The UK has also lately granted Saudi Arabia billions of pounds worth of weapons. Earlier this month, too, the ceasefire failed and the bombings started – as they have off and on since the war began last year.

The Saudis even recently took a page out of America’s book and managed to bomb a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) hospital! The US officially condemned that because having a poker face is an essential part of working for the state department. Unfortunately, as that link notes, the Saudis have done this several times before during the conflict.

We [AMERICANS] are funding this war, and even helping the Saudi coalition find targets, and most of us don’t seem to give a damn. It’s not even our official war – we barely care about those – and we haven’t seen any photos of grief-stricken Yemeni children. (Maybe because we’d have to make sure they weren’t shellshocked from a US drone as well.) On the plus side, the Guardian and even the frequently deferential-towards-imperialism New York Times have this week managed to notice that the US is helping to slaughter people while hardly noticing. (The Guardian used a rather clinical photo of a shell of a building in their piece, and the Times had no image at all.)

Sometimes the New York Times and other luminaries are in the first bleachers jumping and cheering about war. Sometimes, pleasantly, they decide to have an official editorial board piece condemning a conflict and scolding the president.

Whether Congress or the Times manages to actually reach out and remind Americans that still more blood is being spilled with their sleepy help seems unlikely; Unlikelier still as we’re faced with President Hillary Clinton. But at least they’ve noticed that the war is going on."

"Yemen: The Worst Humanitarian Crisis in the World"
August 18, 2016

"There are more people in need of humanitarian assistance in Yemen than anywhere else in the world, but thanks to the relatively small number of refugees fleeing the country and the difficulty of entry for journalists, most people – even policy experts and government officials – aren’t able to relate to the scale of suffering there.

As I left Sana’a, I couldn’t help but think that the international community’s approach to Yemen would be markedly different if world leaders were able to see what I saw.

For a start, they would urgently help stabilize Yemen’s Central Bank, remove restrictions on the transport of hard foreign currency out of the country, and enact a new Security Council Resolution demanding peace.

For its part specifically, the US government would withdraw its support for the parties fighting this cruel and unnecessary war.

The humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen is the worst one in the world today, and it is among the worst disasters of its kind in decades. Tens of millions are in serious need of food, and they have mostly been driven to this point by the coalition’s blockade.

This is a massive crisis, and one that didn’t have to happen. It is all the more severe because it is not receiving the publicity that other crises have, and because the international response to it has been limited and woefully inadequate.

I would like to think that the main reason so few people pay attention to the suffering of Yemen is simply lack of information, but that can’t really excuse the behavior of major governments including our own.

The Obama administration had no confidence that the Saudis and their allies’ intervention would succeed, but backed it anyway to satisfy them.

Our government knows as well as anyone what the coalition is doing to the people of Yemen because they are helping them to do it. U.S. complicity in wrecking Yemen isn’t the result of a lack of knowledge about what the war is doing to the civilian population, but rather the indifference born of a desire to keep despotic client states happy."

The Guardian: The US is promoting WAR CRIMES in Yemen

[Go <HERE> for a video, and <HERE> for the Guardian article itself.]

"Saudi Arabia resumed its appalling war in Yemen last week and has alreadykilled dozens more civilians, destroyed a school full of children and leveleda hospital full of sick and injured people. The campaign of indiscriminate killing – though let’s call it what it is: a war crime – has now been going on for almost a year and a half. And the United States bears a large part of the responsibility.

This US-backed war is not just a case of the Obama administration sitting idly by while its close ally goes on a destructive spree of historic proportions.

The U.S. government is actively selling the Saudis billions of dollars of weaponry. They’re re-supplying planes engaged in the bombing runs and providing “intelligence” for the targets that Saudi Arabia is hitting.

Put simply, the US is quite literally funding a humanitarian catastrophe that, by some measures, is larger than the crisis in Syria.

As the New York Times editorial board wrote this week: “Experts say the coalition would be grounded if Washington withheld its support.” Yet all we’ve heard is crickets.

High-ranking Obama administration officials are hardly ever asked about the crisis. Cable television news has almost universally ignored it.

Both the Clinton and Trump presidential campaigns have been totally silent on this issue despite their constant arguing over who would be better at “stopping terrorism”.

Beyond the grotesque killing of civilians, it’s clear at this point that the Saudis’ bombing campaign has also boosted AL-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (Aqap) to a level which Reuters described as “stronger and richer” than anytime in its 20-year history.

Jake Tapper commendably broke the television news blackout about Yemen on his CNN show on Wednesday.

Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, one of the very few elected representatives talking about the crisis, told Tapper that “it’s wild to me” that the Congress isn’t debating the “unauthorized” war in Yemen.

The Saudis “could not do it without the United States”, he said. “We have made the decision to go to war in Yemen” – against Saudi Arabia’s enemies, not ours – without any debate.

The US military can’t even articulate why our government is helping at all.

As Micah Zenko pointed out last year, Gen Lloyd Austin, commander of US Central Command, admitted in March 2015: “I don’t currently know the specific goals and objectives of the Saudi campaign, and I would have to know that to be able to assess the likelihood of success.”

Yet that hasn’t stopped AMERICAN military from helping the Saudis kill thousands of civilians since 2015."

AS WE CAN CLEARLY SEE, THE SITUATION IN YEMEN IS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE SITUATION IN ISRAEL; ONE NATION IS BEING ATTACKED BY ANOTHER (AS ISRAEL IS ATTACKED BY HAMAS) ON A DAILY BASIS WHILE THE NATION UNDER ATTACK IS EITHER IGNORED OR CONDEMNED FOR DEFENDING ITSELF (AGAIN, AJUST AS ISRAEL IS).

IF ONE CONTROLS THE OIL PRICES FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD (AS HOUSE OF SAUD DOES), THEN ONE CAN GET AWAY WITH, EVEN BE AIDED IN, COMMITTING WAR CRIMES, CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY, AND CAN CONTINUE AN AGENDA OF GENOCIDE.

IS IT ONLY ISLAMIC NATIONS WHICH GETS A "GO AHEAD" CARD FOR GENOCIDE?
OR IS IT SAUDI ARABIA, SPECIFICALLY?

SAUDI BOMBS DON'T KILL "JUST HOUTHIS", "JUST REBEL FIGHTERS"....BOMBS DON'T CARE WHAT LIE BENEATH THEM AND SO, MAY WE EXPECT ALL YEMEN PEOPLE WILL BE EXTERMINATED, JUST LIKE HAMAS/FATAH SAY THAT ALL JEWS MUST BE WIPED OFF THE EARTH?

AS LONG AS IT IS THE HOUSE OF SAUD CALLING THE AIRSTRIKES, NO ONE WILL RUSH TO CHANGE THINGS IN YEMEN...BUT IF SAY RUSSIA OR CHINA SENT IN ONE PLANE,  AMERICA WOULD BE SHIPPING TROOPS AND AIRCRAFT TO YEMEN TOMORROW.

DO YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

OIL BUYS NATIONS, DOES IT NOT?

AND SAUDI OIL BUYS DEATH.

Saudis seek 'correction' to UN report June 6, 2016
Saudi Arabia demanded Monday that a UN report blaming the military coalition it is leading in Yemen for the deaths of hundreds of children be corrected and warned it could undermine peace talks.

The annual UN report on children and armed conflict added the Saudi-led coalition to a blacklist of children's rights violators after determining that it was responsible for [AT LEAST] 60 percent of the [ESTIMATED] 785 children killed in Yemen LAST YEAR..

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric defended the report and said, "The report is as it stands."

'Don't bury me': Yemen's forgotten war - CNN.com

In October, a Facebook video of 6-year-old Fareed Shawky, who suffered fatal injuries from missile attacks in the city of Taiz, went viral. He can be seen quietly pleading with the doctors, saying, "Don't bury me." His dying words turned into the hashtag #DontBuryMe as people used social media to condemn the feckless civil war.

.

ABOVE IS ONE OF THE LAST PHOTOS OF 5-MONTH-OLD BABY UDAI FAISAL.

"Hoping for a chance at life, Udai’s parents took him to the hospital, where doctors administered antibiotics and intravenous food in an attempt to coerce a healthier state. However, two days later Usai succumbed to malnutrition at his mother’s side, according to the Washington Post.
Malnutrition prevented Udai’s mother from making a supply of breast milk for [the child]. As a result, she would be forced to search out formula, which was not always available.

His skeletal body broke down under the ravages of malnutrition, his limbs like twigs, his cheeks sunken, his eyes dry. He vomited yellow fluid from his nose and mouth. Then he stopped breathing.”

STARVED.
HOW MANY?
WE MAY NEVER KNOW THE REAL NUMBERS.

HOPELESSNESS AMID DEVASTATION.

.

THE BOMBS NEVER CEASE...

ALONE....WHERE CAN SHE GO?
NOTHING IS LEFT....

WAR CRIMES IN YEMEN? YES, BUT IN UNTOLD NUMBERS, AND THE U.N., VIA "UNICEF" IS COLLECTING FUNDS "FOR THE CHILDREN", BUT THE CHILDREN DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO OR WHAT "UNICEF" IS. THEY GET NO BENEFIT FROM THOSE FUNDS!
SAUDI ARABIA MAKES CERTAIN OF THAT.
AND THE U.S. IS COMPLICIT IN IT.

IT MUST BE STOPPED!

HUMAN-ANIMAL CHIMERA MODELS. CREATING ANIMALS WITH HUMAN ORGANS.

NO, THE ABOVE IMAGE IS NOT PHOTO-SHOPPED, AND CAN BE FOUND AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI, BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT'S WEBSITE AT  http://www.bio.miami.edu/dana/250/250SS16_10.html .

YES, THAT IS A HUMAN EAR, READY FOR TRANSPLANT, INDEED IT IS.

Chimeras

Named for the mythological composite beast, a chimera--broadly defined--can be a composite of two individuals (or even species) at any level

  • organism - embryonic cells from one individual (donor) are transplanted into the embryo of another individual (recipient), resulting in a chimeric recipient
  • cell - a cell containing chimeric DNA will express traits encoded by both donor species' genes
  • nucleic acid - DNA or RNA spliced together from two different individuals

The NIH, under the leadership of professing Christian Dr. Francis Collins, is proposing lifting a ban on taxpayer funding of experiments that splice human stem cells with animal embryos, creating human-animal chimeras.

Proponents, of course, downplay any ethical concerns related to creating new life forms using human genetic material--for either the humans or the animals involved. They're committed to the practical benefits of this kind of research, hoping to create animal models of human diseases in order to prevent and treat illnesses.

A more ambitious goal is the production of sheep, pigs, and cows with human hearts, kidneys, livers, and pancreases to use in transplants.
Proponents assure us that additional restrictions and ethics panels will prevent hybrid horrors, or chimeras, with too-human brains or with the capacity to breed.

However, if you think such research crosses a moral Rubicon, you wouldn't be alone.

Rod Dreher summarized what is happening in an article with the somewhat hyperbolic title, "Christian-Run Agency Embraces Pig-Man." "It's pretty clear," Dreher wrote, "that this is just a prelude to something that's a fait accompli. Besides, who is going to stand in the way of Science over a trivial matter like basic human dignity?"

This ends-justify-the-means kind of commodification of human beings is nothing new.

Chuck Colson warned way back in 2007, "the system is being rigged to promote more such experimentation, not less. Compared to promises of 'miracle cures,' national prestige, and, of course, big money, human dignity counts for very little."

Of course, promises of such cures may sound like a service to the cause of human dignity, but the "scientific progress at any cost" sort of vision drives our current forays in medicine. It's what might be called the scientific illusion, the idea that because we can, we should. That all things, human nature included, are proper subjects of scientific mastery, the ultimate source of all of our knowledge.

Before Chuck, C. S. Lewis warned of such folly in his masterful book "The Abolition of Man."
"If man chooses to treat himself as raw material," Lewis wrote, "raw material he will be, not raw material to be manipulated, as he fondly imagined, by himself, but by mere appetite, that is, mere Nature, in the person of his de-humanized Conditioners."

Lewis offered a prophetic warning, "If any one age," he wrote, "really attains, by eugenics and scientific education, the power to make its descendants what it pleases, all men who live after are the patients of that power," slaves to the "dead hand of the great planners and conditioners."

In other words, the conquering of human nature with our technology, in reality, will end up being the conquering of all of us by some of us.

READING IN MANY PLACES, IT CERTAINLY LOOKS TO ME LIKE THIS IS A "DONE DEAL", THAT THE NIH IS VERY ANXIOUS JUST TO GET ON WITH IT, TO START CREATING, TO BEGIN THE BIZARRE.

In spite of that, the NIH is accepting public comments on this proposed "rule change" through September 6.

LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS AT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH'S WEBSITE

http://grants.nih.gov/grants/rfi/rfi.cfm?ID=57

FROM THE NIH WEBSITE:

"NIH consideration of certain research proposals involving human-animal chimera models

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking public comments on the proposed scope of certain human-animal chimera research that will be considered internally by an NIH steering committee and on a proposal to amend Section IV and Section V of the NIH Guidelines for Human Stem Cell Research.

You may provide comment to one or all of the topics in the comment boxes below.

For more information, see NIH Guide Notice NOT-OD-16-128 or Federal Register notice

The NIH proposes the scope of research to include research in which:

  1. human pluripotent cells are introduced into non-human vertebrate embryos, up through the end of the gastrulation stage, or
  2. human cells are introduced into post-gastrulation non-human mammals (excluding rodents), such that there could be either a substantial contribution or a substantial functional modification to the animal brain by the human cells.
Sections IV and V of the Guidelines currently state:
IV. Research Using hESCs and/or Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells That, Although the Cells May Come from Eligible Sources, is Nevertheless Ineligible for NIH Funding
This section governs research using hESCs and human induced pluripotent stem cells, i.e., human cells that are capable of dividing without differentiating for a prolonged period in culture, and are known to develop into cells and tissues of the three primary germ layers. Although the cells may come from eligible sources, the following uses of these cells are nevertheless ineligible for NIH funding, as follows:

  1. Research in which hESCs (even if derived from embryos donated in accordance with these Guidelines) or human induced pluripotent stem cells are introduced into non-human primate blastocysts.
  2. Research involving the breeding of animals where the introduction of hESCs (even if derived from embryos donated in accordance with these Guidelines) or human induced pluripotent stem cells may contribute to the germ line.

"Scientists trying to grow human organs inside pigs in an attempt to tackle a shortage of donors have successfully created part-human, part-pig embryos.

Researchers at the University of California, Davis combined human stem cells and pig DNA and allowed the embryos to mature for 28 days, before terminating the experiment and analysing the tissue.

To create the “chimeric” embryos, the scientists used a gene-editing technique known as Crispr to knock out a section of the pig’s DNA necessary for the embryo to develop a pancreas.

Human induced pluripotent (iPS) stem cells were then injected into the pig embryo. These are cells that have the potential to develop into any tissue type in the resulting foetus.
Although genetically foreign, they are not rejected by the pig embryo because its immune system has not yet developed.

Instead, the human cells would be expected to follow the chemical cues from the pig embryo to develop into different tissues in the foetus. In most cases they are outcompeted by the pig embryo’s own cells but in the case of the pancreas there are no pig cells to compete with. Hence the embryo goes on to develop a pancreas derived from the injected human cells.

“You are basically creating a vacuum, a hole, so that the human cells respond to the right cues, they make a pancreas. The pig cells can’t. But what we don’t know, and this is what they need to look at, is whether the human cells can also contribute substantially to other tissues, and particularly they are worried about the brain,” said Robin Lovell-Badge, a geneticist at the Francis Crick Institute in London.

It was reported earlier this year that scientists had begun attempts to create the embryos, but there has been opposition from authorities. In September last year, the US National Institutes of Health said it would not back research into “chimeras” until it knew more about the implications.

It cited fears that the presence of human cells could affect the animal’s brain and behaviour, potentially making it more human.

Prof Pablo Ross, the reproductive biologist leading the research, sought to calm those fears, saying there was a “very low potential for a human brain to grow”.

“Our hope is that this pig embryo will develop normally but the pancreas will be made almost exclusively out of human cells and could be compatible with a patient for transplantation,” he said.

The approach is not without potential problems.
“There are other cells types that are going to be present in the pancreas which come from the pig – that would include blood vessels,” said Lovell-Badge. “Those would be a big problem and they would be rejected by a human.”

It is also possible that the surface of the human cells may be modified inside the pig embryo, potentially leading to the organ being rejected by a human.

It is not the first attempt to create chimeras. Among the previous experiments, scientists using different techniques were able to produce a mouse with a rat’s pancreas, and mice with livers almost completely composed of human cells.

“The whole idea of making chimeras, mixing different animal species or human-animal, has been around for decades,” said Lovell-Badge.
But Peter Stevenson, from Compassion in World Farming, told the BBC’s Panorama programme:

“I’m nervous about opening up a new source of animal suffering.
Let’s first get many more people to donate organs.

“If there is still a shortage after that, we can consider using pigs, but on the basis that we eat less meat so that there is no overall increase in the number of pigs being used for human purposes.”

Professor George Church, who has led similar research into the possible use of chimeras, told the broadcaster: “It opens up the possibility of not just transplantation from pigs to humans but the whole idea that a pig organ is perfectible.
“Gene editing could ensure the organs are very clean, available on demand and healthy, so they could be superior to human donor organs.”

Is growing human organs in animals a step too far?

That’s currently being debated, after MIT Technology Review revealed that at least three groups in the U.S. are doing just that.

The controversial technique involves the creation of so called “chimeras,” or mixtures between humans and farm animals. Although the work has yet to be published, the information gathered by MIT from the scientists themselves indicates that roughly 20 successful pregnancies were established in either pigs or sheep last year, but all were terminated before reaching full-term.

And at work presented last November at the National Institutes of Health facility in Maryland, scientists revealed just how far their research has progressed.

For instance, one group at the University of Minnesota used human cells in an attempt to treat an eye abnormality in a pig fetus, and showed evidence of success in the two-month-old pig.

Institutions only permitted the research if the developing animals were terminated at an early stage. So at present, the research is being used to optimize techniques and examine feasibility.

WHAT IF THEY DIDN'T TERMINATE THESE EXPERIMENTS EARLY-ON?

WHAT IF THEY DID LET THEM RUN?
HOW CAN WE BE CERTAIN WHAT'S GOING ON IN LABORATORIES AROUND THE WORLD WHEN WE CAN READ SUCH AS THE FOLLOWING, FROM THE U.K.:

"Scientists have created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos in British laboratories.

The hybrids have been produced secretively over the past three years by researchers looking into possible cures for a wide range of diseases.

The revelation comes just a day after a committee of scientists warned of a nightmare ‘Planet of the Apes’ scenario in which work on human-animal creations goes too far.

Figures seen by the Daily Mail show that 155 ‘admixed’ embryos, containing both human and animal genetic material, have been created since the introduction of the 2008 Human Fertilisation Embryology Act.

This legalised the creation of a variety of hybrids, including an animal egg fertilised by a human sperm; ‘cybrids’, in which a human nucleus is implanted into an animal cell; and ‘chimeras’, in which human cells are mixed with animal embryos.

Three labs in the UK – at King’s College London, Newcastle University and Warwick University – were granted licences to carry out the research after the Act came into force.

The figure was revealed to crossbench peer Lord Alton following a Parliamentary question.

Last night he said: ‘I argued in Parliament against the creation of human- animal hybrids as a matter of principle. None of the scientists who appeared before us could give us any justification in terms of treatment.
‘Ethically it can never be justifiable – it discredits us as a country. It is dabbling in the grotesque.
‘At every stage the justification from scientists has been: if only you allow us to do this, we will find cures for every illness known to mankind. This is emotional blackmail.

‘On moral and ethical grounds this fails; and on scientific and medical ones too.’

Human-animal hybrids are also created in other countries, many of which have little or no regulation."

Do you understand how far this "science" is going?
Here’s a piece that journalist Will Saletan wrote for The Washington Post in 2007. Excerpt:
To make humanized animals really creepy, you’d have to do several things. You’d increase the ratio of human to animal DNA. You’d transplant human cells that spread throughout the body. You’d do it early in embryonic development, so the human cells would shape the animals’ architecture, not just blend in.
You’d grow the embryos to maturity.
And you’d start messing with the brain.

We’re doing all of these things.

According to the British academy’s report, “researchers have constructed ever more ambitious transgenic animals” — some with an entire human chromosome — and it’s “likely that the process of engineering ever larger amounts of human DNA into mice will continue.” We’re transplanting pluripotent stem cells, which proliferate and grow many kinds of human tissue. We’re doing it early in mouse embryogenesis, and we’re implanting the resulting embryos in “foster mice” so they can develop.

We’re not doing these things because they’re creepy. We’re doing them because they’re logical. The more you humanize animals, the better they serve their purpose as lab models of humanity. That’s what’s scary about species mixing. It’s not some crazy Frankenstein project. It’s the future of medicine.
Back in the year 2000 — which seems ten lifetimes ago — Jody Bottum responded to news that British scientists had created a pig-human chimera. Excerpt:
It used to be that even the imagination of this sort of thing existed only to underscore a moral in a story. When our ancestors heard of Vlad the Impaler’s wife bathing in the blood of slaughtered virgins to keep herself beautiful, they were certain it was a bad thing. When they were told fairy tales of an old crone fattening children to suck the health from them, they knew which side they were supposed to take. When they read of Dorian Gray’s purchase of eternal youth, they understood that the price he paid was his soul.

But we live at a moment in which British newspapers can report on 19 families who have created test-tube babies solely for the purpose of serving as tissue donors for their relatives — some brought to birth, some merely harvested as embryos and fetuses.

A moment in which Harper’s Bazaar can advise women to keep their faces unwrinkled by having themselves injected with fat culled from human cadavers.

A moment in which the Australian philosopher Peter Singer can receive a chair at Princeton University for advocating the destruction of infants after birth if their lives are likely to be a burden.

A moment in which the brains of late-term aborted babies can be vacuumed out and gleaned for stem cells.

In the midst of all this, the creation of a human-pig arrives like a thing expected.

We have reached the logical end, at last.

We have become the people that, once upon a time, our ancestors used fairy tales to warn their children against — and we will reap exactly the consequences those tales foretold.

From National Geographic:
Human Born to Mice Parents?

For example, an experiment that would raise concerns, he said, is genetically engineering mice to produce human sperm and eggs, then doing in vitro fertilization to produce a child whose parents are a pair of mice.
"Most people would find that problematic," Magnus said, "but those uses are bizarre and not, to the best of my knowledge, anything that anybody is remotely contemplating. Most uses of chimeras are actually much more relevant to practical concerns."

Last year Canada passed the Assisted Human Reproduction Act, which bans chimeras. Specifically, it prohibits transferring a nonhuman cell into a human embryo and putting human cells into a nonhuman embryo.

Cynthia Cohen is a member of Canada's Stem Cell Oversight Committee, which oversees research protocols to ensure they are in accordance with the new guidelines.
She believes a ban should also be put into place in the U.S.

Creating chimeras, she said, by mixing human and animal gametes (sperms and eggs) or transferring reproductive cells, diminishes human dignity.

"It would deny that there is something distinctive and valuable about human beings that ought to be honored and protected," said Cohen, who is also the senior research fellow at Georgetown University's Kennedy Institute of Ethics in Washington, D.C.

Mice With Human Brains?

Irv Weissman, director of Stanford University's Institute of Cancer/Stem Cell Biology and Medicine in California, is against a ban in the United States.

Weissman has already created mice with brains that are about one percent human.

Later this year he may conduct another experiment where the mice have 100 percent human brains.

This would be done, he said, by injecting human neurons into the brains of embryonic mice.

Before being born, the mice would be killed and dissected to see if the architecture of a human brain had formed.
If it did, he'd look for traces of human cognitive behavior.

Weissman said he's not a mad scientist trying to create a human in an animal body. He hopes the experiment leads to a better understanding of how the brain works, which would be useful in treating diseases like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.

William Cheshire, associate professor of neurology at the Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville, Florida, branch, feels that combining human and animal neurons is problematic.
"This is unexplored biologic territory," he said. "Whatever moral threshold of human neural development we might choose to set as the limit for such an experiment, there would be a considerable risk of exceeding that limit before it could be recognized."

For the Rochester study, researchers implanted newborn mice with nascent human glial cells, which help support and nourish neurons in the brain.

Six months later, the human parts had elbowed out the mouse equivalents, and the animals had enhanced ability to solve a simple maze and learn conditioned cues.

These protocols might run afoul of the anti-hybrid laws, and perhaps they should arouse some questions.

These chimeric mice may not be really human, but they're certainly one step further down the path to Algernon.

It may not be so long before we're faced with some hairy bioethics:
What rights should we assign to mice with human brains?

Is this really a good idea?

Once a human organ is grown inside a pig, that pig is no longer fully a pig.

And without a doubt, that organ will no longer be a fully human organ after it is grown inside the pig.
Those receiving those organs will be allowing human-animal hybrid organs to be implanted into them.

One can only imagine what the consequences of doing such a thing would be.

You would think that there should be strict limits on this kind of a thing.
And in a few areas around the globe, there are some limits.
But most of the time the ethical decisions are left up to the scientists...

Most people would be absolutely shocked to learn some of the things that are currently being done in the name of science.

For example, did you know that rice that contains actual human genes is being grown right now in Kansas?

Unless the rice you buy is certified organic, or comes specifically from a farm that tests its rice crops for genetically modified (GM) traits, you could be eating rice tainted with actual human genes.

The only known GMO with inbred human traits in cultivation today, a GM rice product made by biotechnology company Ventria Bioscience is currently being grown on 3,200 acres in Junction City, Kansas — and possibly elsewhere — and most people have no idea about it.

Not long ago, Chinese scientists embedded genes for human milk proteins into a mouse's genome and have since created herds of humanized-milk-producing goats.

Here are some other ways that humans and animals are being combined...

-Rabbit Eggs with Human Cells

-Pigs with Human Blood

-Sheep with Human Livers

-Cow Eggs with Human Cells

-Cat-Human Hybrid Proteins

And these are just the things that we know about. What would the consequences be if such beings started mating with other animals?

Could we end up creating creatures that are far beyond our capacity to control?

Unfortunately, Pandora's box has already been opened and it is going to be extremely difficult to control the creation of human-animal hybrids.

This technology is racing ahead all over the planet, and at this point even college students can create new lifeforms in their own basements."

I REALLY DO WONDER HOW FAR THE SCIENTISTS WORKING ON THIS HAVE GONE.
IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE IT MIGHT BE VERY HARD TO STOP EXPERIMENTS SUCH AS THESE, TO NOT PRESS ON "JUST TO SEE" WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

IT'S SIMPLY HUMAN NATURE TO "PUSH THE ENVELOPE", TO TAKE THINGS 'JUST ONE MORE STEP' FURTHER, AND THEN ANOTHER, AND THEN....?

TIME WILL TELL, BUT I HOPE TIME DOESN'T REVEAL SOMETHING WE CAN'T STOP.... EVEN IF WE WANT TO.

What if animal organs, cells, or DNA could make us faster, stronger, or more adept?

The Department of Defense has dabbled with the notion of dosing humans with bacteria taken from a pig's digestive tract.

This research program, known as "Intestinal Fortitude," could in theory help a solder to digest cellulose or otherwise survive on "non-traditional foodstuffs."

Scientists have created genetically-engineered mice with artificial human chromosomes in every cell of their bodies, as part of a series of studies showing that it may be possible to treat genetic diseases with a radically new form of gene therapy.

In one of the unpublished studies, researchers made a human artificial chromosome in the laboratory from chemical building blocks rather than chipping away at an existing human chromosome, indicating the increasingly powerful technology behind the new field of synthetic biology.

Once animal DNA gets into our breeding pool, how will we ever put the genie back into the bottle?
As the DNA of the human race becomes corrupted, it is easy to imagine a future where there are very few “pure humans” remaining.

VOICES FROM GAZA

Above: Armed Palestinian masked militants push back a crowd of worshippers outside a mosque in Gaza City on August 22, 2014, before executing more than a dozen men for allegedly helping Israel during its six-week assault on the Palestinian enclave. Amnesty International released a report saying that Hamas was responsible for these and other killings.

Saudi Journalist: Hamas Is Sacrificing The People Of Gaza

GAZANS ROBBED BY HAMAS, ARAB NEWS REPORT
The Asharq Al-Awsat (Middle East) newspaper, one of the most prestigious in the Arab world, recently reported that at least 600 millionaires were living in the Gaza Strip - the same people sitting on the money pipelines there.

The newspaper report also refutes the claim that the Gaza Strip has been facing a humanitarian crisis because of an Israeli blockade.

Another source of wealth for Hamas leaders was taking over land.

"They took over land mainly near the sea in good areas, such as the former Gush Katif, then sold it. In effect, they are the cat guarding the cream - the land - so they were able to take over land and loot it for themselves."
In addition, there is a system in the Gaza Strip of fictitious recruitment of workers for Hamas for the purpose of obtaining pay slips from people overseas paying for it.

"They get the payments from overseas according to the workers' names. It has recently been discovered that there are hundreds of fictitious names of soldiers and officials supposedly in Hamas. Actually, the leaders and officials put the money in their own pockets."

The Current Gaza Conflict: Arab World Losing Patience With Hamas

"The offensive waged by Hamas against Israel from the Gaza Strip has sparked intense criticism in the Arab media, reflecting the movement's deteriorating status in the Arab world.

Alongside condemnations of the Israeli counterattack and international calls to end it, Arab media voiced sharp and extensive criticism of the Hamas leadership's handling of the crisis. Such reactions came both from Hamas' natural rivals and from its former allies in the resistance axis, from which it has been expelled – reflecting Hamas' isolation in the Arab world.

Media in Saudi Arabia and in Al-Sisi's Egypt – the countries considered to be the leaders of the Arab world's moderate axis and the main rivals of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) movement, to which Hamas belongs – accused Hamas of taking unreasonable and irresponsible steps, of trading in the blood of the people of Gaza, and of exposing them to inevitable attacks.

The Egyptian press was particularly vociferous in its criticism of Hamas and especially of the head of its political bureau, Khaled Mash'al, who recently called on the Egyptian army to come to the Palestinians' aid.

An Egyptian pro-MB journalist even wrote that the Egyptian army has local problems to deal with, more pressing than the liberation of Jerusalem.

The media in Syria, which is likewise resentful of Hamas and its leaders due to their support for the rebellion against President Bashar Al-Assad, also slammed this movement, saying that it has abandoned the resistance in favor of a Western plan to destroy the Arab world, and that Mash'al has chosen to manage the war not from Gaza but rather from Doha, the capital of Qatar, a country known for its support for the MB and "in whose palaces the Israeli and Western intelligence cells nest."

Egyptian Columnist To Khaled Mash'al: Leave Your Hotel In Qatar And Come Fight From Gaza

"In an article titled "Why Isn't Khaled Mash'al Giving His Life In Gaza?", columnist Hamdi Razaq argued that, while Egypt is defending the Palestinian cause, Hamas has "sold" it to the MB, and Mash'al himself is enjoying a life of luxury in Qatar. He wrote: "Where is your spirit of heroism, Abu Walid [i.e., Khaled Mash'al]? Join your brothers. Leave Doha's hotels, which you have enjoyed, and go down into the trenches and fight..."

Egyptian Writer Compares Hamas, MB, Hizbullah To Hitler

In a July 14, 2014 article on the liberal website Elaph.com, Egyptian writer and journalist Kamal Gabriel compared Hamas to Hitler, saying that not only has it caused significant damage to the Palestinian people and their cause, it has damaged them more than Israel has.
He wrote:

"It is indeed tragic when a dictator or a criminal gang takes over a people and makes it a hostage and a tool for antagonism towards the [entire] world. Hitler in Germany and Saddam [Hussein] in Iraq did this [in the past]; Hizbullah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza are doing it now; and the 'Destructive Brotherhood' [i.e. the MB] almost did it in Egypt.
"These Palestinian gangs plunder the cause of the oppressed Palestinian people by repeatedly reenacting the story of Samson, who brought down the [Philistine] temple on his and everyone else's heads. They do this in their own country and in every country that hosts them – in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Kuwait. These organizations have become a curse on the Palestinian people..."

'Al-Sharq Al-Awsat' Editor: Hamas Trades In The Blood Of Its People

Salman Al-Dosari, editor of the London-based Saudi daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, claimed that Hamas trades in the blood of its people:

". [Hamas considers it] more important to encourage the voices [calling out] the slogan of resistance, which sounds nice but does not take into account the horrible consequences.

"[The story of Hamas] is the story of Hassan Nasrallah and his resistance to Israel, which ended in the destruction of half of Lebanon [in 2006]... When has Hamas ever stopped trading in the blood of its people?!"

VOICES OF GRIEVING GAZAN FAMILIES

"Under Cover Of Conflict, Hamas Killed Palestinians, Amnesty Alleges"

During the upheaval of the 2014 war between Hamas and Israel, at least 23 Gazans were deliberately killed by fellow Palestinians, according to a report out  from Amnesty International.

Amnesty blames the killings on Hamas, which runs Gaza.

It says those killed were accused of being collaborators — spies for Israel — and many were awaiting trial.

Hamas denies responsibility for the killings. But human rights groups, family members and prisoners agree there are dangers for Palestinians who are accused — perhaps falsely — of collaboration.

'Internal Security Can Take Anybody, Anytime'

Summer, 2014, during the chaos of war, Waheb Wadiya buried his 34-year-old son Adli.

"We took him to the cemetery and buried him next to my father. He had been shot about a hundred times," Waheb says. "One shot in the eye."

Wadiya's son wasn't killed by an Israeli tank or bomb.

He had been serving time in a Hamas-run prison inside the Gaza Strip since 2010.

Amer Wadiya, Adli's brother, says he tried to find out who was responsible for his death.

"After Adli was killed, I went to the prison and asked an official, 'Where is my brother?' He said, 'Internal security came and took him,' " Amer Wadiya says.

"I said, 'He was in your custody. How can others come and take him?'

He said, 'Internal security can take anybody, anytime.' "

Adli Wadiya was among a group of 11 men Amnesty International says were taken from prison and shot at a police station a few days before the war ended in August, 2014.
Another six men were executed in public that same day.
All were accused of collaborating with Israel.

Among Palestinians, collaborators are widely seen as traitors.
They're subject to trial, and if their actions led to the deaths of Palestinians, they can face the death penalty themselves.

But human rights groups say the accusation is also used to settle political scores.

Waheb Wadiya believes Hamas labeled his son a collaborator because he was active in
a rival political-military group.

"His lawyer proved he had never killed or turned in any Palestinian.
Plus, my son told me he was innocent, but tortured into giving a confession," he says.

"They tied his arms behind his back and hung him in the air. He would have even signed a paper saying God doesn't exist."

Voices From Inside Katiba Prison

Amnesty International says these executions under the cover of conflict could amount to war crimes.

Hamas said it wasn't responsible for the executions detailed by Amnesty and suggested vigilantes may have taken the law into their own hands.

But accused collaborators still in prison in Gaza say they've seen this happen before.

September, 2014, with permission from Hamas authorities, I visited Katiba Prison in Gaza City — specifically, the section where accused collaborators are kept.

I spoke with inmates, unsupervised, in a dim, out-of-the-way room.

One, who gave his name as Naim, said he was arrested in 2008 and, after being physically and emotionally abused in prison, confessed to helping Israel.

In 2012, during an eight-day war between Hamas and Israel, he says Hamas security forces took several accused collaborators, including him, out of the prison, and kept them elsewhere for five days.

"On the sixth day they took some men with them. They left me and another man. They executed the men they took away," Naim says. "Then they drove me back to prison. I said, 'Why are you putting me back in jail? Am I accused of anything?' "

Naim believes the fact Hamas didn't kill him at that time proves his innocence. In fact, he was released two months ago, after a new judge was assigned to his case. But in this murky world of collaboration there are always questions about who is really serving whom.

As I spoke with a second inmate, a guard started beating a prisoner nearby.
The prisoner pled for mercy as the guard accused him of lying.

The inmate I was interviewing said this wasn't torture for a confession; just a guard mad at a prisoner for something.

"Don't panic," he said. "This happens all the time."

This inmate asked that his name not be made public. He is also accused of collaboration, which he denies.

During the 2014  war, he says he saw more than a dozen men taken from this prison, where they were awaiting charges or appealing sentences. They were among those Amnesty says were shot and killed.

"These are people I lived with, I ate with. I knew them," the inmate says. "I think one or two were collaborators. The rest had made a lot of mistakes, but weren't collaborators."

Whether they were or were not, human rights advocates say someone needs to answer for killing them."

VOICES OF GAZA'S YOUTH

Gazan youth issue manifesto to vent their anger with all sides in the conflict

"An anonymous group of students has created a document to express their frustration born of Hamas's violent crackdowns on 'western decadence', the destruction wreaked by Israel's attacks and the political games played by Fatah and the UN

Gaza Youth's Manifesto for Change is an extraordinary, impassioned cyber-scream in which young men and women from Gaza – where more than half the 1.5 million population is under 18 – make it clear that they've had enough. "F__  Hamas..." begins the text. "F__  Israel. F__ Fatah. F__  UN. F__  UNWRA. F__  USA! We, the youth in Gaza, are so fed up with Israel, Hamas, the occupation, the violations of human rights and the indifference of the international community!"

It goes on to detail the daily humiliations and frustrations that constitute everyday life in the Gaza Strip.

"Here in Gaza we are scared of being incarcerated, interrogated, hit, tortured, bombed, killed," reads the extraordinary document.
"We are afraid of living, because every single step we take has to be considered and well-thought, there are limitations everywhere, we cannot move as we want, say what we want, do what we want, sometimes we even can't think what we want because the occupation has occupied our brains and hearts so terrible that it hurts and it makes us want to shed endless tears of frustration and rage!"

The text ends with a triple demand:
"We want three things.
We want to be free.
We want to be able to live a normal life.
We want peace.
Is that too much to ask?"

On Facebook, the group calls itself 'Gaza Youth Breaks Out'.

They are normal students, from the more secular elements of Gazan society.

All declare themselves to be non-political and disgusted with the tensions and rivalries that divide Palestinians between Hamas, the rulers of Gaza, and Fatah, the more secular party which governs the Palestinian Authority, based in the West Bank.

"Politics is bollocks, it is screwing our lives up," said one member of the group. "Politicians only care about money and about their supporters. The Israelis are the only ones benefiting from the division."

Two of the group have been detained by the Gazan authorities several times, accused among other crimes of "immoral" behaviour.

They say that they have been abused in jail and claim that physical and psychological punishment is commonplace in Gaza's detention centres.

"We are supposed to be the engine of change in this society, but our voices are muted. In the press, at university, there is no room in our society to talk freely, out of the frame, without putting yourself and your family at risk," says one, who wants to be called Abu Yazan.

He adds: "In Gaza, you feel watched at school, in the streets, everywhere. You can be thrown into jail at any time. [Hamas] will threaten you with ruining your family reputation and that would be it."

Israeli shelling which follows the launching of rockets into Israel by Palestinian militants is part of their everyday life.
Power cuts and ruinous sanitary conditions are among the side-effects of the embargo suffered by Gaza's inhabitants.

With high unemployment in the Strip and little access to other job markets after graduation, many feel that they have reached a dead end.

Some keep studying and accumulating degrees and foreign languages, which they learn via the internet, hoping for better days to come.
Others kill their time smoking hookahs with their friends day after day.

Going out, meeting friends in cafés – let alone clubs or discotheques – or attending cultural events has become an increasingly complicated task as Hamas cracks down on western "decadence".
In Gaza there are no theatres and few concerts aside from the Islamic musical performances organised by the Hamas authorities.

In the places where young men and women are allowed to meet, considered an "oasis" by the less conservative youth, the police are quick to interrogate mixed couples suspected of not being married or engaged.

The "last straw" for the writers of the Gaza manifesto came a month ago, when Hamas closed Sharek, an internationally financed organisation offering training and summer activities for thousands of adolescents and young people.
Sharek had also became a hang-out place for the more liberal-minded in Gaza.
Human Rights Watch recently issued a statement condemning its closure.

"Hamas authorities in Gaza should allow an organisation that helps children and youth to reopen, and penalise officials who have harassed its workers," it said.

According to Ihab Al Ghusain, a spokesman for the Hamas Ministry of the Interior, "There are no laws prohibiting men and women sitting together in public places in Gaza," he said. "But some policemen, at their own initiative, interrogate the couples."

VOICES OF THE CHILDREN.....SILENCED

These atrocities should be front page news, but of course, they aren’t.

THEY WERE FRONT PAGE NEWS IN THE UK...FROM THE DAILY MAIL NEWS:

HAMAS DID USE SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS IN GAZA AS "HUMAN SHIELDS"
March 26 2015

A rocket salvo that killed 11 Gazan children and hit a hospital on a Muslim religious holiday was the work of Palestinian militants hitting their own people, a report has found, in a damning indictment of Hamas’s conduct during last summer’s war with Israel.

HAMAS HAS ADMITTED USING CHILDREN TO DIG TUNNELS, BUT CALLS THIS PRACTICE "NECESSARY TO DEFEAT ISRAEL".
FROM BREITBART, JULY 27, 2014, HAMAS ADMISSION TO USING CHILDREN...

Hamas killed hundreds of children in the construction of its extensive tunnel network, built partly to carry out attacks on children across the Gaza border in Israel.

That report–confirmed by Hamas itself–emerged in 2012, not from the Israeli government, but the sympathetic Journal of Palestine Studies, in an article that otherwise celebrated the secret tunnel system as a symbol of Palestinian resistance to the Israeli “siege” of the Gaza Strip.

The article, “Gaza’s Tunnel Phenomenon: The Unintended Dynamics of Israel’s Siege,” was published in the Summer 2012 edition of the Journal by Nicholas Pelham, who writes for the Economist and the New York Review of Books, according to his bio. It is receiving new attention thanks to Myer Freimann of Tablet, whose post about Hamas’s use of child labor has gone viral in social media.

Pelham wrote that despite the economic success of the tunnels underneath the Egyptian border, which enriched Hamas through a thriving black market as well as arming it with new weapons, there were a few drawbacks.

One of these was a “cavalier approach to child labor and tunnel fatalities,” he noted. “During a police patrol that the author was permitted to accompany in December 2011, nothing was done to impede the use of children in the tunnels, where, much as in Victorian coal mines, they are prized for their nimble bodies.

At least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials

"Though some children likely worked voluntarily, the fact that there were public complaints about child deaths, to which Hamas felt compelled to respond at least superficially,  is evidence of some amount of coercion.

The number of deaths since 2012 has yet to be reported, but almost certainly exceeds the number Pelham reported.

To sum up: Hamas is not only using child labor, but likely child slavery, in building its terror tunnel network. While the world worries obsessively over the child casualties of Israeli attacks on Hamas targets in Gaza, it has ignored Hamas’s deliberate killing of hundreds of Palestinian children, over the objections of the local populace."

THE WASHINGTON POST WAS OUTRAGED OVER THIS FINDING.
"Hamas is responsible not only for the deaths of the children sent to dig tunnels, but also those who could have been healed and educated if the cement from Israel had been used for schools, clinics and housing rather than to create a subterranean military apparatus.

Professor Gerald Steinberg, who heads NGO Monitor (a group that tracks the NGO entities devoted to delegitimizing Israel under the guise of “human rights”), tells Right Turn:

“Hamas has been abusing children for years with impunity, with the silent cooperation of ‘watchdogs’ such as Human Rights Watch, UNRWA, Amnesty and many others claiming moral agendas.

In addition to sending them to die building Gaza’s terror tunnels, hundreds of Palestinian children are used as human shields to protect deadly missiles, and as suicide bombers in the war machine.”

He concludes, “Public documentation of these abuses from Hamas and its accomplices, particularly officials of UNRWA, Defense for Children International, HRW, Al-Mezan, B’Tselem, and Save the Children, as well as their funder-enablers, is essential in restoring the tattered moral principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

HAMAS GUILTY OF HUMAN SACRIFICE

This pattern of human sacrifice (what else should we call it?) is one more reason that there cannot be a cease-fire unless and until Gaza can be demilitarized, its rockets and tunnels destroyed.

HAMAS USES CHILDREN AND THEY DIE, YET HAMAS HIDES IN HOSPITAL AND SCHOOL BASEMENTS, IN THEIR UNDERGROUND BUNKERS WHILE FORCING CIVILIANS TO REMAIN ABOVE GROUND IN THEIR HOUSES DURING ISRAEL;I COUNTER-ATTACKS.

DURING THE WORST OF THE FIGHTING IN 2014, SOME GAZANS WERE ENRAGED TO LEARN THAT THE UPPER ECHELON OF HAMAS HAD RETREATED TO QATAR AND KUWAIT.

HAMAS PROSPERS FROM SHOWING DEAD GAZANS

LINKEDIN REPORTED ON HAMAS CORRUPTION IN ITS DOCUMENTARY:

"In recent days, various media have been publishing photographs of Hamas leaders in luxurious homes with fitness equipment, at luxury hotels around the world, etc.

On the other hand, distressing pictures are being shown of the suffering of the Palestinian people in their rundown houses, whom Hamas says it represents.

Their [HAMAS'] phenomenal wealth started accumulating when they decided to disassociate themselves from Israel and search for alternative financing sources. Legacies from the deceased; money from charity funds; a donation called zaka, one of the six pillars of Islam; and donations from various countries.

It started with Syria and Saudi Arabia, with Iran added later and becoming one of Hamas's biggest supporters, and ended with Qatar, which has now taken Iran's place.

Together with the donations from various countries, fundraisers began operating in the US to collect money for Hamas.

Here, the Hamas leaders began to get their hands on some really big money.
One of those fundraisers was Dr. Musa Abu Marzook, the number 2 man in Hamas . At the beginning of the 1990s, he began a fundraising campaign in the US among wealthy Muslims, while at the same time founding several banking enterprises.

He himself became a conglomerate of 10 financial enterprises giving loans and making financial investments.

SOME HAMAS MEMBERS BECAME MILLIONAIRES, EVEN BILLIONAIRES WHILE THOUSANDS DIED FROM POVERTY...THOUSANDS WHO NEVER GOT ANY BENEFIT FROM FUNDS DONATED FOR THEIR 'RELIEF'.

Today, Marzook is considered one of Hamas's wealthiest billionaires. "Arab sources estimate his wealth at $2-3 billion .

Another Hamas leader-turned-tycoon is Khaled Mashaal. "Estimates around the world are that Mashaal is currently worth $2.6 billion, but the numbers mentioned by the Arab commentators (based on their many sources) are much higher, varying from $2-5 billion invested in Egyptian and Persian Gulf banks, and some in real estate projects in the Persian Gulf countries .

The next tycoon on the list is Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. "He is a scion of a family from the Al-Shati refugee camp, and his capital is estimated at $4 million . He registered most of his assets in the Gaza Strip in the name of his son-in-law, Nabil, and in the name of a dozen of his sons and daughters and a few less well known Hamas leaders.

They all have homes in good neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip, where the value of every home is at least $1 million.

Another wealthy Hamas official - Iman Taha - is not on the organization's highest levels, but he, too, (and other junior managers) is feeding from the trough.

The question of where these officials got their money exposes the corrupt system used by Hamas through its control of the money pipelines in the Gaza Strip. They treated the money as their own personal possession.
IN MAY, 2015, THE UNITED NATIONS ISSUED A REPORT "CONDEMNING ISRAEL" FOR ITS ATTACKS ON GAZA, BUT WHAT FEW FAILED TO NOTICE, WHAT THE MEDIA, FOR THE MOST PART DID NOT REPORT, WAS THAT THE U.N. ALSO FOUND THAT HAMAS WAS USING SCHOOLS AND CHILDREN AS SHIELDS AGAINST ISRAELI STRIKES FOLLOWING MISSILE LAUNCHES BY HAMAS....FROM SCHOOLS.

IN ONE INSTANCE, THE REPORT SPEAKS OF A SCHOOL THAT WAS USED BY HAMAS FOR THESE MISSILE LAUNCHES IN WHICH HAMAS UNLOCKED THE GATES TO ALLOW CHILDREN INSIDE TO PLAY IN THE SCHOOLYARD.

FROM THE NEW YORK POST:

"As it happens, the three schools-turned-arsenals were empty at the time Israel struck — but there’s no suggestion Hamas just took advantage of the students’ absence.

And in at least one school where weapons were stored, the report found, Hamas unlocked the gate “to allow children access to the schoolyard.”
In fact, Hamas has long used UN facilities as a staging grounds and observation posts for attacks on Israel. And the United Nations barely raised an objection — unless and until Hamas was caught and called out."

THE U.N. HAS NOW ISSUED A SECOND "OBJECTION" TO ITS SCHOOLS BEING USED BY HAMAS AS SITES FROM WHICH TO LAUNCH MISSILES.
READ THAT <HERE>.

HOW DOES HAMAS USE CHILDREN?
LET THE VIDEO BELOW SHOW YOU....

FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS:
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (TheBlaze/AP) — While Thousands of Palestinian residents of the northern Gaza Strip fled their homes on Sunday and sought safety in U.N. shelters, heeding warnings from the Israeli military about impending plans to bomb the area, a defiant Hamas is urging them to stay.

THE ABOVE STATES THAT ISRAEL GIVES ADVANCE WARNINGS BEFORE A COUNTER-ATTACK AFTER HAMAS MISSILES ARE FIRED INTO ISRAEL.
THE GAZAN YOUTH MANIFESTO ALSO CITES THIS ISRAELI PRACTICE AND THAT HAMAS WILL THREATEN CIVILIANS WHO TRY TO LEAVE AREAS THAT WILL BE TARGETS OF ISRAELI COUNTER-STRIKES.

Hamas, an Islamic militant group sworn to Israel’s destruction, continued to fire rockets into Israel throughout the day. It urged people in northern Gaza to stay in their homes and has so far rejected proposals for a cease-fire as unsatisfactory.
“They want us to put down our arms and leave the resistance,” said Moussa Abu Marzouk, a top Hamas official, on his Facebook page. “They started the battle, and we will stay on our land and fight to protect our future.”

NO, THIS, BELOW, IS WHAT STARTED THE BATTLE, BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER 3 ISRAELI STUDENTS WERE KIDNAPPED AND MURDERED BY "PALESTINIANS", THESE REPEATED, DOCUMENTED, VIDEO-RECORDED MISSILE LAUNCHES FROM INSIDE THE GAZA STRIP:

Early Sunday, the Israeli air force dropped leaflets around the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahia ordering people to evacuate their homes. Israel says much of the rocket fire has come from the area, and overnight Sunday, the military carried out a brief ground operation on what it said was a rocket-launching site that could not be struck from the air.

THERE IS ALSO A VIDEO ON THAT WEBSITE WHICH SHOWS GAZANS LEAVING THE AREA AFTER THE ISRAELI WARNING.

HAMAS GIVES NO WARNING BEFORE ITS MISSILE STRIKES.

VOICES OF VICTIMS OF HAMAS

September 19, 2014
While the world's media has been blaming Israel for the death of Gazan civilians during Operation Protective Edge, this correspondent decided to speak with Gazans themselves to hear what they had to say.

They spoke of Hamas atrocities and war crimes implicating Hamas in the civilian deaths of its own people.

Although Gazans, fearful of Hamas's revenge against them, were afraid to speak to the media, friends in the West Bank offered introductions to relatives in Gaza.

One, a renowned Gazan academic, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that as soon as someone talked to a Western journalist, he was immediately questioned by Hamas and accused of "communicating with the Mossad".

"Hamas makes sure that the average Gazan will not talk to Western journalists -- or actually any journalists at all," he said, continuing:

"Hamas does not want the truth about Gaza to come out. Hamas terrorizes and kills us just like Daesh [ISIS] terrorizes kills Iraqis. Hamas is a dictatorship that kills us. The Gazans you see praising Hamas on TV are either Hamas members or too afraid to speak against Hamas. Few foreign [Western] journalists were probably able to report what Gazans think of Hamas."
When asked what Gazans did think of Hamas, he said:

"The same as Iraqis thought of Saddam before he was toppled. He still won by 90-something percent in the presidential elections. If Hamas falls today in Gaza, people here will do what Iraqis did to Saddam's statue after he fell. But even though Western journalists may not have been able to speak freely with Gazans, they still need a story to send to their editor by the end of the day. So it is just easier and safer for them to stick to the official line."
"What was that," I asked: "'Blame Israel'?"
"I don't know about that," he said. "More like, 'Never blame Hamas!'

Hamas was making a 'statement': Opposing Hamas Means Death. Hamas is a dictatorship that kills us."

M., a journalist, confirmed his view. "I do not believe any of the people Hamas killed in the last weeks were Israeli spies," he said. "Hamas has killed many people for criticizing it, and claimed they were traitors working for Israel during the war."

That conversation took place four weeks before Hamas killed 21 alleged "Israeli Mossad agents."

D, a store owner, said:

"There were two major protests against Hamas during the third week of the war. When Hamas fighters opened fire at the protesters in the Bait Hanoun area and the Shijaiya, five were killed instantly. I saw that with my own eyes. Many were injured. A doctor at Shifa hospital told me that 35 were killed at both protests. He went and saw their bodies at the morgue."
To verify those reports, I spoke to a second Gazan academic, who holds a PhD. from a Western university, who stated:

"Hamas did kill protesters, no doubt about that. But we could not confirm how many were actually killed. If I have to guess, the number was more than reported. I am confident that not all of the 21 men Hamas killed on August 22 were collaborating with Israel. Hamas killed those men because it was weakened by Israel's attacks and felt endangered. So it went on a 'Salem Witch-Hunt.' They arrested everyone who opposed them and had to make a few examples to scare people from standing against Hamas. Hamas's tactic worked. Now Gazans are afraid to talk against Hamas even in front of their own family members. Gazans are probably afraid to criticize Hamas even in their sleep!"

As already reported by the award-winning journalist, Khaled Abu Toameh, Hamas killed one of its leaders, Ayman Taha, and blamed Israel for it.

Asked about Abu Toameh's report, S., a Gazan political activist said:

"Taha was already in Hamas's jail before Israeli operations started. Hamas imprisoned him and tortured him because he was critical of its radical policies. He had warned Hamas not to cooperate with Qatar and Iran. Eye-witnesses said they saw Hamas militants bring him alive into the yard of Shifa hospital in Gaza and shoot him dead. They kept mutilating his body in front of viewers and little children and left it on the hospital's yard for a few hours before allowing the staff to take it to the morgue."
A., a Fatah member in Gaza, spoke over Skype -- fearful that Hamas was intercepting phone lines:
"Even before the Israeli operation began, Hamas rounded up 400 of our members and other political-opposition figures. I would not be surprised if Hamas kills them all and then claims they were killed in an Israeli bombing. Hamas already beheaded a man known for opposing its views on the 22nd day of the war, then reported on its Facebook page that he was caught sending intelligence information to Israel. If Hamas does not like you for any reason, all they have to do now is claim you are a Mossad agent and kill you."
S. a medical worker, said:

"The Israeli army sends warnings to people [Gazans] to evacuate buildings before an attack. The Israelis either call or send a text message. Sometimes they call several times to make sure everyone has been evacuated. Hamas's strict policy, though, was not to allow us to evacuate. Many people got killed, locked inside their homes by Hamas militants. Hamas's official Al-Quds TV regularly issued warnings to Gazans not to evacuate their homes. Hamas militants would block the exits to the places residents were asked to evacuate.
In the Shijaiya area, people received warnings from the Israelis and tried to evacuate the area, but Hamas militants blocked the exits and ordered people to return to their homes. Some of the people had no choice but to run towards the Israelis and ask for protection for their families.

Hamas shot some of those people as they were running; the rest were forced to return to their homes and get bombed. This is how the Shijaiya massacre happened. More than 100 people were killed."
Another Gazan journalist, D., said:

"Hamas fired rockets from next to homes. Hamas was running from one home to another.
Hamas lied when it claimed it was shooting from non-populated areas.

To make things even worse for us, Hamas would fire from the balconies of homes and try to drag the Israelis into door-to-door battles and street-to-street fights -- a death sentence for all the civilians here.

They would fire rockets and then run away quickly, leaving us to face Israeli bombs for what they did.

They are cowards.

If Hamas militants are not afraid of dying, why do they run after they fire rockets from our homes?
Why don't they stay and die with us?
Are they afraid to die and go to heaven?
Isn't that what they claim they wish?"

K, another graduate student at an Egyptian university who had gone to Gaza to see his family but was unable to leave after the war started, said on July 22:

"When people stopped listening to Hamas orders not to evacuate and began leaving their homes anyway, Hamas imposed a curfew: anyone walking out in the street was shot without being asked any questions. That way Hamas made sure people had to stay in their homes even if they were about to get bombed. God will ask Hamas on judgment day for those killers' blood."
I asked him if Hamas used people as "human shields."

He said: "Hamas held the entire Gazan population as a human shield. My answer to you is yes."

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told the press on September 6 that Hamas had killed 120 Fatah members who broke the curfew.
T., a former Hamas Ministry officer, said:
"Hamas fires from civilian areas for a good reason: The Israelis call the civilians and give them ten minutes to evacuate. This gives Hamas time to fire another rocket and run away."

Why, I asked, did Hamas not allow people to evacuate?

"Some people say Hamas wants civilians killed in order to gain global sympathy, but I believe this is not the main reason. I think the reason is that if all the people were allowed to evacuate their homes, they all would have ended up in a certain area in Gaza. If that happened, it would have made the rest of Gaza empty of civilians, and the Israelis would have been able to hit Hamas without worrying about civilians in all those empty areas. Hamas wanted civilians all over the place to confuse the Israelis and make their operations more difficult."
S., a Gazan businessman, said:

"The cease-fire Hamas agreed to carried the same conditions the Egyptians and the Israelis offered during the second week of the war -- after only 160 Gazans had been killed.

Why did Hamas have to wait until 2,200 were killed, and then accept the very same offer?

Hamas has blackmailed the world with the killed Gazan civilians to make itself look like a freedom fighter against an evil Israel.

Hamas showed Gazans that it could not care less for their blood and their children.

And why should Hamas care?
Its leaders are either in mansions in Qatar or villas in Jordan.

Mashaal [Khaled Mashaal, the head of Hamas] is in Qatar, Mohammad Nazzal is in Jordan and Abu Marzouk is in Cairo: why should they want a ceasefire?

Everyone here in Gaza is wondering why Hamas rejected so many ceasefires. Hamas knows it will not defeat Israel's army, so why did it continue fighting?

The answer is simple: Hamas wanted us butchered so it could win the media war against Israel by showing our dead children on TV and then get money from Qatar."
I asked S. if other Gazans shared his view. He said,

"Gazans are not stupid. We are now telling Hamas: Either you bring victory and liberate Palestine as you claim, or simply leave Gaza and maybe give it back to the Palestinian Authority or even Israel -- or even Egypt! We have had enough of Hamas's hallucinations and promises that never come true."
O., a researcher who lives in Gaza Strip's second largest city, Khan Younis, said:

"Most of us see Hamas as too radical and too stubborn, especially the way it was refusing ceasefires offered from Israel. They even refused a 24-hour ceasefire during the third week of the war.
They denied us even 24 hours of quiet to bury the dead.

Even some Hamas loyalists here are asking why Hamas refused several ceasefires and made us suffer. Hamas did this on purpose because Hamas is a slave to Qatar.

Qatar wants the war to go on because it is a terrorist Islamist country, and Hamas wants more of us dead to appease its masters in Qatar.

Let's be realistic, Hamas is in a bad shape now. Israel destroyed most tunnels; that is why Hamas had to join the ceasefire talks in Cairo. Were the Israelis' hits to Hamas not so painful, Hamas would not be negotiating in the first place.

At the same time, Hamas is asking Israel for the impossible, like an open seaport and an airport.

Israel would never allow that, and Hamas knows this, but Hamas might just be buying time by throwing out these demands.

You have to keep in mind that Hamas is not concerned with our conditions as Gazans.
After all it is our children who are dying, not the children of Hamas's leaders.

Hamas is weak now, and I believe it lost most of its tunnels. Israel's Iron Dome destroyed so many of their rockets before they landed in Israel; that is why Hamas is being ruthless with Gazans.

When Hamas locks people inside homes about to be bombed, when it kills people protesting against it and when it executes alleged traitors without even a trail, these are war crimes."

A report by the Washington Institute, released in July, also reports that most Gazans are not happy with Hamas's governance.

"It is true," said A., a teacher. "I do not know a single Gazan who is pro-Hamas at the moment, except for those on its payroll.
Hamas maintains its control here through a military dictatorship, just like North Korea. People will be killed if they protest.
Even Gazans living abroad fear to criticize Hamas because Hamas will take revenge on their relatives who are here."

M., a Gazan television producer, stated:
"Of course I am against Israel and I want it out of Gaza and out of the West Bank, but I still believe Hamas is more of a threat to the Palestinian people.
Hamas took over Gaza by killing us [Palestinians] and throwing our young men from high buildings. That is what Hamas is about: murder and power.

Even if there is calm, and the firing stops, we are going to still be under Hamas's mercy, where all basic living standards are considered luxuries.
Hamas is just buying time by going to the ceasefire talks.
Hamas does not want a ceasefire."
When asked why that was, he said, "Ask Qatar's Sheikh, not me. He is Hamas's god who gives them billions and tells them what to do. May God curse Qatar!"

A first-aid volunteer, E., said that Hamas militants had confiscated 150 truckloads of humanitarian supplies the day before.
He said the supplies were donated by charities in the West Bank and that their delivery was facilitated by the IDF.

He commented: "This theft angers all of us [Gazans]. The Israeli army allows supplies to come in, and Hamas steals them. It seems even the Israelis care for us more than Hamas."

Another aid worker, A., confirmed that Hamas steals the humanitarian supplies given to Gaza. "They [Hamas] take most of it, sell it to us, and just give us the stuff they do not want."

A Gazan mosque's imam said that the most precious aid item Hamas stole was water.
"Gazans are thirsty and Hamas is stealing the water bottles provided to us for free and selling them at 20 Israeli shekels [approximately $5] for the big bottle and 10 Israeli shekels for the small one."

H., who did not want his profession to be mentioned, lost one of his legs in an Israeli raid. I asked him who he thought was responsible for his injury. He stated:

"Hamas was. My father received a text-message from the Israeli army warning him that our area was going to be bombed, and Hamas prevented us from leaving. They said there was a curfew. A curfew, can you believe that?

I swear to God, we will take revenge on Hamas.
I swear to God I will stand on my other foot and fight against Hamas.
Even if Israel leaves them alone, we will not.

What had my two-year-old nephew done to be killed under the rubble of our home so Khaled Mashaal [Hamas leader based in Qatar] could be happy?

We want change at any cost. I am not claiming the Israelis are innocent, but I know Hamas has fired rockets from every residential spot in Gaza.

If that was not hiding behind civilians, then it was stupidity and recklessness.
Nobody who is normal, in his right mind, in Gaza supports Hamas.

People have lost parents, children and friends, and have nothing more to lose.
I believe if given the chance and the weapons, they will stand against Hamas.
"

K., a Gazan school teacher agreed:

"When Hamas starts caring for our children we will start caring for Hamas.

Hamas has one policy, to attack Israel; so Israel attacks back, and gets us killed and Hamas then gets more money from Arabs and Erdogan [Turkey's president].

My son has autism; he cannot handle the sounds of rockets and bombs landing. Why would I support Hamas, which causes this suffering to him?
Gazans have had enough of Hamas, any claims that we love Hamas is just propaganda.

Almost 300,000 Gazans are now homeless and Hamas is not providing them with anything. So why would they or their extended families have any love for Hamas? Would there be any common sense to that? Most Gazans are angry at Hamas, and most of us would love to see them replaced by any other force."
M., who lost his 11 year old daughter in an Israeli bombing said:

"I will not forgive either Hamas or Israel for losing my daughter.

If you ask me if I hate Israelis, my answer would be no, but do I love them?
Of course not. There is too much blood between us, but I can only hope someday we both will move on and heal our wounds."

When asked what he would do if he were in Israel's place, being attacked non-stop by Hamas, he responded: "I do not care if both Israel and Gaza burn in hell."

"CRIME AND PUNISHMENT IN THE GAZA STRIP", A SHORT DOCUMENTARY ON HOW HAMAS IMPRISONS CIVILIANS ACCUSED OF OFTEN TRUMPED-UP CHARGES...
THE FILM CREW'S REPORT CAN BE FOUND <HERE>.

AS REPORTED BY CNN,
February 29, 2012:

"Combine the widespread Tramadol with Hamas' strict approach to law and order, and soon you have a lot of young men behind bars.

We visited Gaza's central prison, where drug users and drug smugglers alike are locked in a communal cell, their sentences ranging anywhere from one month, to death by hanging.

Elsewhere in the same facility we met a woman who was imprisoned for the crime of having a child out of wedlock and another for helping her son escape from Gaza.

The Hamas government operates in an environment of paranoia that has them on guard not only against the outside world, but against their brothers and sisters in Fatah, and against ordinary Gazans whose poverty they fear could tempt them into spying for Israel.

An authoritarian government operating within prison walls and under economic siege ... it sounds like the setup for a Kurt Russell movie, except that it's real."

THE HUFFINGTON POST WROTE,

The reality [is] that both Hamas and Israel are to blame for the civilian deaths in Gaza, something neither side wants to admit; lest they come face to face with the frightening moral consequences of their military and political objectives.

To blame one side without looking at the other is not only irresponsible, but borders on an overt attempt at circumventing the facts.
In previous conflicts Amnesty International has documented that Palestinian armed groups have stored munitions in and fired indiscriminate rockets from residential areas in the Gaza Strip in violation of international humanitarian law.

Reports have also emerged during the current conflict of Hamas urging residents to ignore Israeli warnings to evacuate.
Furthermore, Amnesty International (while vehemently urging Israel to cease military activities) has stated Hamas is violating international law by storing rockets in civilian areas and urging people not to leave their homes after being warned by Israel of impending attacks:

As explained above, in previous conflicts Amnesty International has documented that Palestinian armed groups have stored munitions in and fired indiscriminate rockets from residential areas in the Gaza Strip, and available evidence indicates that they continue to do both during the current hostilities, in violation of international humanitarian law. During the current hostilities, Hamas spokespeople have reportedly urged residents in some areas of the Gaza Strip not to leave their homes after the Israeli military dropped leaflets and made phone calls warning people in the area to evacuate.
Amnesty International has also declared, “Hamas has also continued to fire hundreds of indiscriminate rockets into Israel in violation of international law, killing two Israeli civilians and injuring others.”

In addition, UNRWA in UNRWA CONDEMNS PLACEMENT OF ROCKETS, FOR A SECOND TIME, IN ONE OF ITS SCHOOLS states unequivocally that Hamas stores rockets in civilian centers:
Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip.
...UNRWA strongly and unequivocally condemns the group or groups responsible for this flagrant violation of the inviolability of its premises under international law."

AND IN RESPONSE, WHAT DID HAMAS SAY?
Actually Hamas has made no secret of advocating the use of civilians as human shields to try to face down Israeli aggression.
A senior spokesman for the group, Sami Abu Zuhri, gave an interview on Palestinian station al-Aqsa TV earlier this month.
He said: “This attests to the character of our noble, jihad-loving people – who defend their rights and their homes with their bare chests and their blood.
“The policy of people confronting the Israeli warplanes with their bare chests in order to protect their homes has proven effective against the occupation… we in Hamas call upon our people to adopt this policy in order to protect the Palestinian homes.”

On 10 July the UN released a situation report which deplored the civilian casualties but added: “In most cases, prior to the attacks, residents have been warned to leave, either via phone calls by the Israel military or by the firing of warning missiles.”

But the Hamas-run Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Interior has told residents not to pay attention to the IDF warnings.

It issued a directive “calling all our people not to deal or pay attention to the psychological warfare carried out by the occupation through rumours that broadcast across his media and delivering publications and communications on the phones of citizens”.

AFTER READING AND SEEING THE EVIDENCE, HOW CAN ANYONE NOT SEE THE NEED TO REMOVE HAMAS FROM CONTROL OF THE GAZA STRIP?

HAMAS DOES NOT GIVE A TINKER'S EARTHEN DAM ABOUT THE GAZAN PEOPLE, ONLY ABOUT THEMSELVES, THEIR POWER, AND THE MONEY THEY MAKE FROM THE SUFFERING OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

HAMAS WILL INDEED CONTINUE ITS HUMAN SACRIFICES UNLESS THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY INTERVENES AND RESCUES GAZA FROM HAMAS' CLUTCHES.

THOSE WHO WEEP FOR GAZA DON'T USUALLY KNOW HALF THE STORY, DON'T GO TO THE GAZAN PEOPLE AS MANY OF THE JOURNALISTS WHO FILMED AND WROTE ALL OF THE ABOVE.

DOES ISRAEL HAVE CLEAN HANDS IN THE DEATHS OF THE PEOPLE OF GAZA?
NO.

BUT ISRAEL DOES NOT HAVE CONTROL OF GAZA, OR ITS MISSILES, OR ITS TERRORISTS OR ITS "MARTYRS"...HAMAS DOES!

CAN'T ANYONE SEE THAT THE MAJORITY OF GAZANS WANT RID OF HAMAS?
HAMAS PROMISED ELECTIONS, BUT THEY HAVEN'T COME, AND THE LAST TIME THERE WERE ELECTIONS, THOSE WHO WENT TO VOTE WERE THREATENED AND/OR ATTACKED BY HAMAS.

WHO CRIES OUT AGAINST THAT?

WHO CRIES FOR THE SACRIFICED CHILDREN?

NOT EVEN THEIR OWN MOTHERS, IN SOME INSTANCES...

Son's death was "best day of my life," says Palestinian mother

Palestinian Mother Overjoyed Her Son Murdered Jewish Children

MAYBE THE MOTHERS DON'T GRIEVE FOR THEIR CHILDREN, BUT WE SHOULD!

WE SHOULD WANT TO STOP THIS SORT OF THING!

AS MANY GAZANS SAID IN THE ABOVE INTERVIEWS, THERE COULD BE PEACE IN GAZA WITHOUT HAMAS.

IF HAMAS DID NOT LAUNCH MISSILES AGAINST ISRAEL, IF HAMAS DID NOT SOLICIT SUICIDE BOMBERS AMONG THEIR YOUTH AND
THEIR WOMEN, IF HAMAS DID NOT SACRIFICE CHILDREN IN THE DIGGING OF TUNNELS, IF HAMAS DID NOT SEND MURDERERS TO KILL SLEEPING CHILDREN AND STUDENTS AND PEOPLE AT BUS STOPS, AND IF HAMAS WAS NOT THERE TO FORCE GAZANS TO REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES AFTER ISRAEL WARNS OF COUNTER ATTACKS, THINK HOW MANY LIVES WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED!

THERE IS A VIDEO OF HAMAS LAUNCHING MISSILES FROM CIVILIAN SITES, ALSO POSTED BY THE DAILY MAIL, UK.

TO DO SO INVITES RETALIATION, BUT HAMAS HAS NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE.

"
Confession: In a veiled confession that comes two weeks after the end of the Gaza war, a senior Hamas official today said the group's fighters had no choice but to use residential areas from which to launch missiles into their neighbour's territory "
