ICE WALL AND ROBOTS FAIL AT FUKUSHIMA

7 YEARS ONGOING AND STILL CONTAMINATING THE WORLD

AS YOU READ, KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING FACT;
Radiation levels exceeding one Sievert are rare in everyday life, so much so that officials resort to millisieverts (mSv = 1/1000th) or microsieverts (uSv = one millionth of a Sievert) when measuring radiation.
Eight Sieverts is enough to produce vomiting, severe headaches, fever and a zero percent survival rate.

IF YOU SCAN AMERICA'S MAINSTREAM MEDIA TODAY, YOU WILL FIND LITTLE MENTION OF THE FAILURE OF THE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR ICE WALL TEPCO SAID WOULD STOP 99% 0F THE RADIOACTIVE WATER FROM FLOWING BENEATH THE CRIPPLED REACTORS INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN.
NOT ONLY DID IT FAIL, IT ALSO COULD HAVE MADE MATTERS WORSE.

AS REUTERS REPORTED (AND ONLY REUTERS, INITIALLY):
Tepco's 'ice wall' fails to freeze Fukushima's toxic water buildup - Reuters

I THOUGHT PERHAPS REUTERS WAS REPORTING OLD NEWS BECAUSE TWO YEARS AGO, THE SAME THING WAS IN A FEW MORE HEADLINES THAN WE FIND THIS TIME...FAILURE OF THE IDIOTIC ICE WALL.

Fukushima 'ice wall' fails to stop radioactive water | World | The Times, UK
July 22, 2016 - The makers of an underground "ice wall" meant to prevent groundwater seeping into the ruined Fukushima nuclear plant and becoming irradiated before it seeped out again have admitted that the system is failing.

THAT WAS ALSO REPORTED BY MEDIA IN JAPAN, AS IT WAS REVEALED:
Ice wall not working at Fukushima nuclear plant- Nikkei Asian Review

Oct 21, 2016 - TOKYO -- An underground ice wall built around the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has so far been unable to block the flow of groundwater.

"COME, LET US REASON TOGETHER..."
IF TEPCO IS SEEN AS HAVING EXHAUSTED ALL EFFORTS TO STOP THE INCESSANT FLOW OF HIGHLY, UNDERLINE HIGHLY, RADIOACTIVE WATER INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN, WON'T IT BE EASIER FOR THEM TO GET THE OKAY FROM THE "GLOBAL COMMUNITY" TO JUST LET THAT WATER FLOW ON, UNHAMPERED, TO POISON THE PACIFIC OCEAN FOREVER?

IF PEOPLE SEE STOPPING IT AS IMPOSSIBLE, THEY WON'T MIND AS MUCH WHEN TEPCO JUST DIGS A CHANNEL STRAIGHT INTO THE SEA AND DUMPS CONTINUOUSLY, 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 365/366 DAYS A YEAR...FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS.
THINK OF THE MEGA-$$$$$ THAT WILL SAVE TEPCO AND THE ABE REGIME!

AND IF ROBOTS FAIL TO LOCATE THE CORIUM BENEATH THREE (3) REACTORS, WELL THEN, POOR TEPCO, IF THEY CAN'T FIND IT, THEY DON'T HAVE TO REMOVE IT, RIGHT?
IF THEY DON'T HAVE TO DIG OUT CORIUM FROM BENEATH 3 REACTORS, IMAGINE THE MEGA-BUCK$$$$ THEY WILL SAVE!

HOW DID ALL THAT RADIOACTIVE WATER BECOME SUCH A PROBLEM?
THE BAD PLANNING OF THOSE WHO BUILT THAT NIGHTMARE FACILITY.
THEY SCREWED UP BIG TIME.

The reactor complex was built adjacent to a mountain range, and millions of gallons of water emanate from the mountains daily beneath the reactor complex, causing some of the earth below the reactor buildings to partially liquefy. As the water flows beneath the damaged reactors, it immerses the three molten cores and becomes extremely radioactive as it continues its journey into the adjacent Pacific Ocean.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE RAINFALL IN FUKUSHIMA PREFECTURE?
The average annual rainfall is 1258 mm, almost 50 inches per year, but more when there are more typhoons. Fukushima is never dry.

The nuclear facility also sits atop a major aquifer which flows toward Tokyo.

Japan Times: Extreme contamination in Fukushima reactor buildings ‘most likely’ mixing into aquifer, reveals Tepco —

Bloomberg: Could this flow downstream to Tokyo and present a big risk?
Published: August 26th, 2013

BUT IT ISN'T JUST THE AQUIFERS, IT'S ALSO THE RIVERS...
Radiation along Fukushima rivers up to 200 times higher than Pacific Ocean

The samples were measured at an independent laboratory in Tokyo.

“The extremely high levels of radioactivity we found along the river systems highlights the enormity and longevity of both the environmental contamination and the public health risks resulting from the Fukushima disaster,” said Ai Kashiwagi.

“These river samples were taken in areas where the Abe government is stating it is safe for people to live. But the results show there is no return to normal after this nuclear catastrophe,” he said.

Riverbank sediment samples taken along the Niida River in Minami Soma, measured as high as 29,800 Bq/kg for radiocaesium (Cs-134 and 137). The Niida samples were taken where there are no restrictions on people living, as were other river samples. At the estuary of the Abukuma River in Miyagi prefecture, which lies more than 90km north of the Fukushima Daiichi plant, levels measured in sediment samples were as high as 6,500 Bq/kg.
Engineers Knew Fukushima Might Be Unsafe, But Covered It Up …

BBC: Water crisis at Fukushima has only just begun — "Plant sits smack in the middle of an underground aquifer" — It's rapidly being overwhelmed deep beneath ground.

THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COVER-UPS SINCE 2011. TEPCO HAS BEN CAUGHT ATTACHING SHIELDING TO RADIATION MONITORS, BUSTED FOR NOT REPORTING INCREDIBLE SPIKES IN RADIATION BOTH INSIDE AND AROUND THE PLANT AND IN NEARBY WELLS.

THIS HEADLINE FROM THE NEW YORKER SAYS IT BEST, PERHAPS:
The New Yorker, Mar. 11, 2014: “A story of human disaster that may never end.”

"
The Fukushima Daiichi site will continue to bleed radiation into the Pacific Ocean for 100 years. As contaminated water beneath the site slowly evolves into a radioactive lake. Most likely the cleanup of the entire site is at least a century away, if ever.

How has this calamity evolved into such a worldwide catastrophe?
It happened because the Japanese government chose to protect Tepco, its financial interest and the goals of the nuclear power industry."

AND OUR OWN GOVERNMENT PROTECTS JAPAN'S BIG NUKE BOYS, JUST AS IT PROTECTS THAT INDUSTRY AND ALL THE COVER-UPS RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA, INC.

FAIL, FAIL, FAIL....

Dying robots and failing hope: Fukushima clean-up falters six years after tsunami ...

Mar 8, 2017 - Fukushima clean-up falters six years after tsunami. Exploration work inside the nuclear plant's failed reactors has barely begun, with the scale of the task described as 'almost beyond comprehension'.

So much of what is communicated to the public and media is speculation and wishful thinking on the part of industry and government.

Even Shunichi Tanaka, the chairman of Japan’s nuclear regulation authority, does not appear to share Tepco’s optimism that it will stick to its decommissioning roadmap. “It is still early to talk in such an optimistic way,” he says. “At the moment, we are still feeling around in the dark.”

[ESTIMATES ARE THAT] 150 tons of groundwater seep into the reactor basements every day, said Yuichi Okamura, a Tepco spokesman.

IN A VIDEO OF THE ABOVE INTERVIEW, THE TEPCO 'OFFICIAL' CLEARLY STATES THAT THEY CAN'T BE SURE HOW MUCH WATER IS ACTUALLY FLOWING BENEATH THAT PLANT.
HE SAYS, "Please give us time to check that..."

GIVE THEM TIME?
THEY'VE HAD 7 LONG YEARS!

Governor Yuhei Sato visited the Nuclear Regulation Authority in Tokyo on Wednesday.

[NOTE: THIS WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN A JAPANESE NEWSPAPER AT THE FOLLOWING LINK, BUT, OBVIOUSLY, THE ABE REGIME'S CRACKDOWN ON TRUTH ABOUT FUKUSHIMA HAD IT ERASED, WITH ONLY ERROR MESSAGES ON EVEN THE WAYBACK MACHINE'S ARCHIVES.
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/news/20130828_44.html] Sato told the authority's chairman Shunichi Tanaka that the situation can no longer be handled solely by the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company.

He asked the government to regard the problem as a national emergency and step up monitoring of the plant and guidance of the firm.

NOTHING INSIDE THE FUKUSHIMA DISASTER SITE IS "UNDER CONTROL", NOTHING.

Critics of the clean-up note that 2020 is the year Tokyo is due to host the Olympics, having been awarded the Games after Abe assured the International Olympic Committee that Fukushima was
“under control”.

Mitsuhiko Tanaka, a former Babcock-Hitachi nuclear engineer, accuses Abe and other government officials of playing down the severity of the decommissioning challenge in an attempt to win public support for the
restart of nuclear reactors across the country.

“Abe said Fukushima was under control when he went overseas to promote the Tokyo Olympics, but he never said anything like that in Japan,” says Tanaka. “Anyone here could see that the situation was not under control.

“If people of Abe’s stature repeat something often enough, it becomes accepted as the truth.”

QUITE OBVIOUSLY, ABE CHOSE TO LIE IN ORDER TO SECURE THE 2020 OLYMPICS.
HE CHOSE TO PUT THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF HUMAN LIVES AT STAKE WHEN THE WORLD GOES TO TOKYO IN 2020 RATHER THAN ADMIT THE PAST AND PRESENT FAILURES AND THE LACK OF TECHNOLOGY TO EVEN BEGIN A TRUE CLEANUP AT DAIICHI.

NO ONE CAN DECONTAMINATE TREES, ROCKS, SOIL, FLOWING WATER OR AIR, AND ALL THAT SIMPLY RECONTAMINATES LARGE AREAS OF JAPAN EVERY SINGLE DAY.
THERE REALY IS NO END IN SIGHT.

THE FOLLOWING PDF IS AN INTERESTING READ ON ABE'S INACTION.
HE WANTS THE ENTIRE WORLD TO PRETEND THE NUCLEAR DISASTER IS OVER AND "COME ON DOWN" TO TOKYO FOR THE OLYMPICS.
WHETER THEY RETURN HOMECONTAMINATED BY FUKUSHIMA RADIATION OR NOT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER TO HIM AT ALL.

ABE, THE GRANDSON OF A DISGRACED SAMURAI MAY SIMPLY WANT REVENGE FOR HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI ...AND HIS GRANDFATHER'S SHAME?

DESPITE SOME U.S. HEADLINES THAT TOUTED TEPCO LOCATING THE CORIUM BENEATH ONE REACTOR, EVEN TEPCO ADMITS THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHERE THAT CORIUM WOUND UP.

IT HAS NOT BEEN LOCATED AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO FIND IT, THEY CLAIM.

LET'S READ THE HEADLINES AND ADD SOME EMPHASIS:

Jul 26, 2017 - Video: Tepco. A robot swimming in the depths of one of Fukushima's nuclear reactors MAY have spotted LUMPS OF molten nuclear fuel inside.
Japan Pictures LIKELY Show Melted Fukushima Fuel for First Time

BUT TEPCO ITSELF STATED THEY DID NOT LOCATE THE CORIUM IN THAT ONE SINGLE REACTOR...AND THERE ARE TWO OTHERS NEVER YET LOCATED.

ALL ROBOTS, INCLUDING THE LAST ONE, CALLED "SCORPION", FAILED TO TAKE SO MUCH AS ONE PHOTO OF ANY ACTUAL CORIUM, ONLY "ICICLES" OR "BLACK LUMPS" THAT MAY MARK WHERE THE CORIUM DESCENDED INTO THE EARTH BENEATH ONE REACTOR...ONE OF THREE...OR FOUR, DEPENDING ON HOW HONEST THE SOURCE IS.

COMPARE THOSE PHOTOS WITH THE
PHOTOS OF THE DISCOVERED CORIUM AT CHERNOBYL...SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

ABSOLUTE PROOF THAT FUKUSHIMA'S DISASTER OUTSTRIPS CHERNOBYL.

"In 1986 the radiation level on the ”Elephant’s Foot” at Chernobyl was measured at 10,000 roentgens per hour, and anyone who approached would have received a fatal dose in under a minute."

JUST LAST YEAR, TEPCO'S OWN ROBOT MEASURED ALMOST 650 Sv/h OF RADIATION INSIDE REACTOR 3, WHICH IS EQUAL TO 69,670 ROENTGENS PER HOUR.

1 R = 0.00933 Sv; 1 Sv = 107.185 R

THIS WOULD APPEAR TO MAKE THAT ONE REACTOR 7 TIMES MORE DEADLY THAN CHERNOBYL...AND THERE ARE TWO OTHER REACTORS WITH MELTED CORIUM.

AS TO A PREVIOUS MEASUREMENT OF 530 Sv/h:
"
The radiation measurement was 530 sieverts, or 53,000 rems (Roentgen Equivalent for Man).

The dose at which half an exposed population would die is 250 to 500 rems, so this is a massive measurement. It is quite likely had the robot been able to penetrate deeper into the inner cavern containing the molten corium, the measurement would have been much greater.

There’s another problem.
Because the molten cores are continuously generating hydrogen, which is explosive, TEPCO has been pumping nitrogen into the reactors to dilute the hydrogen dangers."

AMERICA'S OWN BROOKHAVEN LAB HAS DEMONSTRATED WHAT TEPCO SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR AND IT SURELY IS NOT ICICLES AND/OR LUMPS...IT'S THAT CLASSIC "ELEPHANT'S FOOT" PATTERN.

"ANOMALIES" HAVE ARISEN WITHOUT TEPCO IDENTIFYING THEIR CAUSE...
Newsweek, Oct 4, 2017
Radiation From Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Discovered in Sand and Groundwater 60 Miles Away… the beach groundwater is 10 times more radioactive than the ocean directly next to the Fukushima plant.

Vast areas of Japan are now contaminated, including some areas of Tokyo, which are so radioactive that roadside soil
measuring 7,000 becquerels (bc) per kilo would qualify it to be buried in a radioactive waste facility in the U.S. or other nuclear nations.
As previously explained, these radioactive elements concentrate in the food chain.
Whether that food comes from river, ocean or soil, each step up the food chain means added radiation, like when the plankton are radioactive, then the radioactive small fish consumes plankton, then a bigger radioactive fish consumes the small fish and all of these are consumed by human beings.

Or, compare it to radioactive soil growing radioactive food crops, consumed by radioactive grazing animals, which are then consumed by us.
We get many times the radiation in every bite than we would if JUST the big fish or the food animal alone was full of radiation.

INSIDE a living organism, radiation wreaks havoc, as we've known since at least 1942.
It produces a cascade effect, each "domino" causing the next one to fall.
That's just how it works.

Entering the body, these elements – called internal emitters – migrate to specific organs such as the thyroid, liver, bone, and brain, continuously irradiating small volumes of cells with high doses of alpha, beta and/or gamma radiation, and over many years often induce cancer".

Fukushima: Nuclear Apologists Play Shoot the Messenger on Radiation, The Age, April 26, 2011)

CROPS GROWN HUNDREDS OF MILES FROM THE DAIICHI PLANT HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR VERY HIGH LEVELS OF RADIATION.

Radioactive cesium exceeding the legal limit was detected in tea made in a factory in Shizuoka City, more than 300 kilometers away from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Shizuoka Prefecture is one of the most famous tea producing areas in Japan.

A tea distributor in Tokyo reported to the prefecture that it detected high levels of radioactivity in the tea shipped from the city. The prefecture ordered the factory to refrain from shipping out the product. After the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, radioactive contamination of tea leaves and processed tea has been found over a wide area around Tokyo.

(See:
5 More Companies Detect Radiation In Their Tea Above Legal Limits Over 300 KM From Fukushima, June 15, 2011)

WHY WOULD JAPAN KNOWINGLY SELL RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS AND FOOD PRODUCTS TO OTHER NATIONS AND SPREAD THE RADIOACTIVITY WORLDWIDE IN NEW WAYS?
$$$$$, THAT'S WHY.
PROFITS.
GREED.
FUKUSHIMA: Radioactive Houses and Roads in Japan.

Russian officials confiscated irradiated Japanese automobiles and autoparts in the port of Vladivostok for sale in the Russian Federation. Needless to say, incidents of this nature in a global competitive environment, could lead to the demise of the Japanese automobile industry which is already in crisis.
Egypt authorities find another case of radiation in Japanese shipment.

Egypt’s General Authority for Export and Import Control recently discovered radioactive cargo in two containers shipped from Japan to Ain Sokhna port, the Red Sea Ports Authority said.

This is the third radioactive shipment Egypt has discovered over the past month.

DARE WE ASSUME EGYPT AND RUSSIA ARE THE ONLY TWO NATIONS IN WHICH JAPAN HAS TRIED TO DUMP ITS RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS?
NO.
SHOULD WE TRUST THAT OUR GOVERNMENT MONITORS SUCH THINGS EVEN AS WELL AS EGYPT DOES?
NO.

Nuclear Watch: Contaminated Water Leaks at Fukushima Daiichi
Aired on Aug. 19, 2013

"As TEPCO workers at Fukushima Daiichi battle to prevent contaminated water from spilling into the ocean, one expert warns that the levels of cesium detected in the water are not enough to explain the amount of radioactive isotopes found in the adjacent port facility."

Just this past October, the Japan Times reported that “Extremely high radiation levels and  the inability to grasp the details about melted nuclear fuel make it impossible for the utility to chart the course of its planned decommissioning of the reactors at the plant.”

In other words,
the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the company in charge of the power plant, has no idea how to clean up, let alone contain, the disaster.

It’s not just that there is no end in sight; officials don’t even know what means are necessary to reach an end.
COVER-UP DEATHS BY CANCER...NOT A PROBLEM.
The Prefectural Oversight Committee for Fukushima Health is only looking at thyroid cancer among the population and by June 2016, 172 people who were under the age of 18 at the time of the accident have developed, or have suspected, thyroid cancer; the normal incidence in this population is 1 to 2 per million.

However, other cancers and leukemia that are caused by radiation are NOT being routinely documented, nor are congenital malformations, which were, and are, still rife among the exposed Chernobyl population.

THE FUKUSHIMA CRISIS IS OVER?
NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!

  1. THE NY TIMES TOOK SOME HEAT OVER THE ORIGINAL HEADLINE OF THIS ARTICLE AND "CORRECTED' IT THE FOLLOWING DAY.
    https://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/17/world/asia/concerns-over-measurement-of-fukushima-fallout.html
NEW YOR TIMES, MARCH 16, 2014
Michio Aoyama’s initial findings were more startling than most. As a senior scientist at the Japanese government’s Meteorological Research Institute, he said levels of radioactive cesium 137 in the surface water of the Pacific Ocean could be 10,000 times as high as contamination after Chernobyl, the world’s worst nuclear accident.
Two months later, as Mr. Aoyama prepared to publish his findings in a short, nonpeer-reviewed article for Nature, the director general of the institute called with an unusual demand — that Mr. Aoyama remove his own name from the paper.
“He said there were points he didn’t understand, or want to understand,” the researcher recalled. “I was later told that he did not want to say that Fukushima radioactivity was worse than Chernobyl.” The head of the institute, who has since retired, declined to comment for this article. Mr. Aoyama asked for his name to be removed, he said, and the article was not published.
“There are so many issues in our community,” he said. “The key phrase is ‘don’t cause panic.”’
Ken Buesseler, a senior scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s department of marine chemistry and geochemistry, in Massachusetts, who has worked with Mr. Aoyama, said, "Researchers are told not to talk to the press, or they don’t feel comfortable about talking to the press without permission,”
Much of the government funding for academic research in Japan is funneled through either the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science or the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Proposals are screened by government officials and reviewed by an academic committee.
Professors, meanwhile, say that rather than simply defend what is a piecemeal approach to studying the disaster, the government should take the lead in creating a large, publicly financed project.
“If we’ve ever going to make any headway into the environmental impact of these disasters, statistical power, scientific power, is what counts,” said Mr. Mousseau of the University of South Carolina. “We get at it with massive replication, by going to hundreds of locations. That costs money.”

    Correction: March 17, 2014
An earlier version of the headline with this article misstated the actions of the Japanese government. There are deep differences over how to determine the health impact of the Fukushima disaster. The authorities are not ‘‘squelching” efforts to measure the effects of the accident.
